“The best hotel in Tallinn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2012

I have stayed here quite a few times with my spouse. The location is great, the restaurant is very good and rooms are wonderful and spacious. But the best thing is the service, the best you'll find anywhere in the Nordics.

The hotel is located near one of the entrances to the Old Town. It's quite near the harbor and you could basically walk to the hotel but the taxis are quite inexpensive in Tallinn so no need to. The Old Town can and should be explored by foot.

The rooms that we have stayed in have been suites (normal and junior) and they have all been stunning. There's enough space, comfort and cleanliness for any demand but if your number one priority is a big HDTV and HIFI system look elsewhere. You should also note that the soundproofing in these old buildings aren't that great but nothing to complain about.

For the service I have nothing but good to say about. Everyone makes you feel welcome and the service is always unique. I'm quite certain this is the main reason why many high level people (presidents, musicans, actors) choose this hotel while staying in Tallinn. If you choose to for example have breakfast in your room or need your shoes shined, it's all complimentary.

All in all, the perfect place for couples and individuals to stay in while in Tallinn. Families with small children might feel more at home elsewhere.

My wife and I stayed 5 nights around midsummer at this very historic site. Our suite was spacious and quiet. The bathtub - this was unique - was placed within the bedroom and with the shower curtain not fully surrounding the tub you had to develop a technique to avoid flooding. But in the end it worked out fine. The ultra moden light on/off remote control was also something one had to get acquainted to.
Service incl. room service was excellent. The restaurant "Bordoo" which is Estonian for Bordeaux served fine food. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous.
All said: perfect location, sound - Dutch - management, curtious staff.

When I first wrote a review about 3sisters (around 3 years ago? the impression was great and found the Hotel as good as charming. I was there again this month and even if place is as charming as it was before rooms were not as I remember them. Very little tv (size of laptop screen), amenities were not as before and some rooms I must say are much better than others. For romantic Holiday I would still choose it but for work trip I would choose different options. Anyway staff was very polite and service received very good.

We stayed here in April 2012 and after getting a deal on line we didn't know what to expect. On arrival we were blown away by the position and architecture of the hotel. The hotel employees were very polite and extremely helpful. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite. The room was the best we have ever stayed in, perfectly decorated, and very welcoming. Highlighy recomended!

This is probably my favorite hotel from journeys in 21 countries over the last 5 years. Three Sisters sits just inside a gate in the wall (photo) of this medieval city. It is an ancient building (the first record of The Three Sisters merchant houses comes from the year 1362) that has been thoroughly updated and modernized, down to the electronically controlled lights. But this modernization has not destroyed the historical character: my room had huge beams running both horizontally and vertically (ohoto), and the window had a deep alcove (in which you could sit if you so chose) (photo) in the three foot thick wall. The sun streamed in the window of my room (first floor, south side), which overlooks the quaint street, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. As you enter, the very pleasant, welcoming receptionist sits at a desk not at a counter and there is always a very helpful colleague nearby. I was greeted in my room with a plate of delightful local candies. There is an excellent restaurant (though not cheap). On the days I was there, there were so few clients that they did not have their regular breakfast buffet, and you had to order off a small menu, which was quite slow, but I presume not the usual situation. As I was traveling off-season in mid-April the price was very reasonable for the quality..

Room Tip: First floor, south side was an excellent location.

We were upgraded to a suite for our visit, so, as you might expect, our impression of the Three Sisters Hotel was extremely positive from the very moment we arrived. Nothing happened to change this over the course of our three night stay. This exquisite hotel is well-staffed by a highly professional team – none of whom seems to be older than 25! The friendly, if formal, approach, ensures that your every wish is taken care of, and you are made to feel a valued and important guest. What can I say about our rooms? Beautiful combination of old and new - all the mod cons in plenty of space. The bathroom was large too with separate shower, although the WC in the main bathroom (there was another one off the living room!) was very close to the sloping old ceiling so encouraged even speedy gentlemen visitors to sit down - to avoid a bang on the head! Also there were lovely Babor products in the bathroom and incredibly soft towels. There were such nice service touches as fresh bottles of water brought in before bed time, the tricky blinds shut for you when you were out for dinner, a personalised weather report for the next 24 hours printed out and left on your bed - not unique to this hotel, but certainly the sort of things that make the difference between a standard night in a hotel and a wonderful experience. The breakfast room is stunning - with centuries-old frescoes (discovered under layers and layers of paint when the old house was renovated) on the heavily slanted ceiling. There are also old frescoes visible on the stonework of one of the staircases. Breakfast itself is lovely quality as you'd expect - an extensive cold buffet with plenty of meats, fruits, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, cakes, pastries etc. Only slight gripe (maybe!) is that nothing changed in what was provided during our 3 night stay, although there was so much to choose from, you would have to eat an enormous breakfast each day to get bored. We didn't take dinner in the hotel so cannot comment on its very beautiful restaurant, but there are so many wonderful restaurants in Tallinn within walking distance that you really are spoilt for choice. The location of the hotel is perfect - in a quiet part of the old town so the hotel remains peaceful at all times, yet is also accessible when wanting to have a wander round this beautiful and compact city. Yes, this hotel is on the costly side, but you certainly feel like you've treated yourself when you have stayed here. Highly recommended.

I stayed at this hotel in mid Feb 2012 for one night. The staff was very friendly and learned my surname instantly, even if's very difficult for many people. The room was very nice and unique with special focus put on the details. The style of the hotel is very old with lot's of old features, but nice modern things in the right place. I would definitely recommend this small hotel
