“The most beautiful hotel in Tallinn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2009

Judging by the amount of people photographing the facade of this hotel every day, this must be one of the most striking places to stay in Tallinn. The interior did not disappoint either. A subtly elegant lobby with the kind of open fireplace you'd like to snuggle up to in winter and our room (number 11) was painted in warm earthy colours with a contemporary four-post bed and views to the front and side of the hotel.
We were met with welcoming glasses of iced tea, which was a nice touch. We couldn't fault the service. Everyone made us feel welcome and valued as guests. Nothing was too much trouble. We were even given a courtesy transfer down to the ferry terminal at the end of our stay.
The location is perfect if you want a lovely, peaceful stroll from the nearby heart of old Tallinn. It's only 5-10 minutes from the Main Square and overlooks the Great Coast Gate and Fat Margaret (luckily a tower, not a tourist!). Pikk is a very pretty street, but then every street around the old town is supremely photogenic.
Overall, one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Not the cheapest place to stay in Tallinn, but we honestly can't imagine there's anywhere better.

This hotel appealed because of its location in old town, on a very quiet end near Fat Margaret's Gate, and because of a strong sense of modern style in a group of three contiguous 15th century dwellings. It did not disappoint. From the complimentary pick-up at the harbour, the friendly and helpful greeting by Kristi and Andre, to the wine cellar with excellent food and selections of wine by the glass, we had no complaints (and we are picky). Our room, 31, is on the third floor (limited lifts so must walk) with a balcony overlooking Piik Street. It's a 2 level room with a spiral stairs to the bedroom - not for the non-agile. If you like predictable hotels, this is probably not the one. If you like interesting design and great service, this is the one. We visited the sister hotel, Telegraf, and were glad we did not stay there - much more modern in a corporate way, less charming (although it does look nice).

We stayed in the Three Sisters for one night in late April 2009. Staff was very welcoming, polite and nice. Everything in the hotel was very clean. We liked the whole athmosphere of the hotel very much - medieval building delicately upgraded to modern times with good taste. Expect thick wooden structures in medieval walls, timber floors, white linen - delicate and classy. Clean, good quality, tranquille and still cosy. You can relax in this hotel. Bed was maybe the best ever in any hotel I have stayed. We had a very good sleep at night - silent, cosy. Location right in the old town.

This is NOT a 5* hotel rather an over priced 3* living on it's reputation. We were upgraded to a superior room( I wouldn't like to have seen the one we were upgraded from) which was just a bog standard room. We have stayed in numerous hotels which offer far better value for the money we paid for this Baltic states disappointment. Tallin itself is pretty grim and I certainly wont be recommending it as value for hard earned money. The prices are very high and all in all our experience gets a thumbs down.

We spent a weekend break in Tallinn and stayed at the Three Sisters.

I hotel was very pretty and quaint. The room was romantic and cosy.

The staff was ever so helpful and very accomodating to our requests.

We are definitely going back there.

This was our second stay at the lovely Three Sisters hotel together with my wife within the past 3 months. We have been very satisfied both times. The hotel and its rooms are very romantic and the personnell is very pleasant and helpful - very much including the reception. The breakfast buffet and menu are very nice; the selection is not extensive but the quality is quite high. The only slight minus is that the hotel rooms are not very "noise-proof". Sounds from adjoining rooms may sometimes be a bit disturbing. But overall the Three Sisters can be warmly recommended, particularly for a romantic get-away.

  • Liked — Friendly staff and excellent breakfast on top of romantic atmosphere
  • Disliked — Room heating was too high

The Three Sisters is currently offering an anniversary menu worth your attention if you're in the neighborhood of Tallinn. From the very start, the amuse-bouche of duck is outstanding. Everything gets better as it progresses with special hurrahs awarded to the diabolically good tuna and mushroom consommé. It's a very reasonably priced prix fixe experience with excellent paired wines.

There are a lot of restaurants in Tallinn who attempt to do haute cuisine, but only a handful are worth your time. This menu is worth a detour.
