Owner description: Dating from the fourteenth century, this beautiful church boasts a splendid interior with a suspended pulpit, carved wooden pews and altar and the not-to-be-missed, azure-faced wall clock (circa 1684) on the outer wall.

The inside of this church is very rich. The entrance fee is 1 EUR per person, however you may see in the entrance area already quite much of the church - so have a look at least from there.

In tourist towns in Europe, there are typically a few churches that are featured, and 20 times as many, also there, also old, but not in any guide book. This church seemed like it belonged in the second category, but somehow was in the first. It is old. But there is not much to look at. There is not much to do. Yes, you can climb the bell tower, but it is more colorful at a half dozen other places in town. There must be 100,000 churches in Europe as good. I.e., nothing special here, but it is cheap, it is quick, Tallinn is a small town, so go see for yourself.

This was my favorite of the churches we saw in Tallinn. They say it is the only one to retain its 14th century appearance. I loved the altar and and carved pulpit and galleries with wonderful paintings.

Very small admission fee which is definitely worth it. I'd recommend buying the small, inexpensive description of the church and its art treasures. I only noticed it as we were leaving and wish I had it from the beginning. There are a few stairs at the entrance and a flight of stairs to the raised gallery on the right, which houses a small exhibition of medieval stained glass and gives nice views of the main floor of the church.

I believe there might have been a small entrance fee but it was well worth it. It's the oldest church in Tallinn. The woodcarvings, painted panels and pews were amazing. Good pictures to be had! Getting a good exterior pic was harder for me with my point and shoot camera. Wonderful black and gold clock on the facade from 1684. A two minute walk from Old Town Hall square.

Lovely old church next to the not-to-be-missed tea shop. Superb 1483 folding triptych altar. Biblical scenes painted around the gallery. Lovely carved pulpit. Royal Navy, Royal Air Force remembered here. Well worth a €1 entrance fee.
