“Cozy Rooms”
Reviewed 10 July 2012

its located in the old town and its in a old charming building with nice cozy rooms which are mostly located in the basement. Staff is friendly and polite and breakfast is decent. Over all its a good value for money. Bathrooms are small and shower cubicle is a bit tight.

Room Tip: there is a narrow staircase leading down to all the rooms in the basement, try and get a room on the...

Very nice and comfortable hotel. But keep in mind that cosy rooms are situated underground and there no windows. As a consequence it's stuffy inside.

Olevi is nothing special, rooms in need of renovation, everything a bit worn and tired looking, unstable wifi. It was fine, but was never going to set any enthusiasm alight in me. Breakfast was also OK. The best thing about it is the location, it is minutes from the heart of the old town, with numerous cafes, bars and restaurants on its doorstep. The rooms very also very quiet, despite being near the action. I'm pretty fit, but I wouldn't want to negotiate carrying a heavy suitcase down the spiral staircase if I were older, or infirm. It's steep and narrow. All in all an average place. I personally dislike the choice to dress staff up in 'olde style' Estonian traditional costume, I don't need to pretend I am living in medieval times, but I guess some people like that sort of thing...

I spent one night here in winter and loved rooms and the whole building.Location in old town of Reval is great and adds to value in my opinion.Hotel is in very old building which gives it interesting layout. There are narrow corridors and stairways leading to rooms. I was staying in twin room, it had all normal amenities and was spacious especially bathroom was huge. Only negative side was that it was bit cold.

Staff was indifferent and didn't raise feelings for good or bad. Breakfast and everything else was standard so don't expect too anything special.

I would go there again for sake of location and building not for level of service.

Found the hotel, great. Everyone seemed friendly. Rooms were massive! 3 Of us in 1 room, and 2 others in another room.
Our Room had it's own sitting area with sofas & tv etc
Hotel seems very old, and has lots of history.
Breakfast was the normal Egg & Sausage, cold meats, cheese, bread & jam, yoghurts, tea or coffee, orange juice etc
Had a great time, would stay again.
Perfect location for nights out around the bars & restaurants.

Fortunately I stayed only for one night. The reception staff were very rude. Inexplicably rude, as if I had done something bad to her, even refusing to reply to my "hello" greeting. They asked for my credit card and charged it in advance, even though my booking was already confirmed by credit card. The pictures are totally misleading. Most of the rooms are two floors underground and have to be reached through claustrophobic labyrinths. It is a real struggle to carry your luggage through those stairs and of course you have to do it yourself. The decoration has nothing to do with the middle ages, it is depressing, worn out and decadent. They advertise wi-fi in the entire hotel but in my room there was absolutely no wi-fi (even in the breakfast room the signal was really low). Since there was no internet I turned on the TV to find out that no channel is well tuned and you cannot watch anything. So, overall, I strongly recommend travelers to avoid it. I am sure that with the same price hotels a lot better than this one can be found in Tallinn.

I selected this hotel on the basis of the pictures about the rooms. The rooms seemed to be elegant and large, so the price seemed to be fare. My mistake was, that I did't read the reviews. I was a little bit shocked, when the rude receptinist informed, that our room is located in the basement. See the pictures I took - and compare. We have a saying in Finland: You can't always win, but you can always lose.

Room Tip: You should not do the reservation without getting a confirmation from the hotel, that your room real...
