I've visited many times in Tallinn, but this was the first visit in Wine Library. The location is one of the best - on the Town Hall Square, where it is very nice to sit on the terrace and watch people passing by. We were quite in hurry, so we ordered just some antipastos and a small bottle of wine. Anyhow this looks like a place where a wine lover must navigate in Tallin. A lot of fine wines on the list at affordable prices and a cosy atmosphere. I'm sure we're going to take more time to visit here next time in Tallin.

Sat on the terrace and spent a sunny hour sipping a cold bottle of Gavi with old friends in this wonderful square in old town Tallinn. The atmosphere was perfect. If you like to people watch this is the place for it.

Wine Library Bar and Restaurant - Town Hall Square Tallin
A delightful restaurant in a medieval town square
This delightful small restaurant is located on the perimeter of the medieval town square in Tallinn. It is a perfect place to enjoy the feel of such an historical location while enjoying a drink and something to eat. We sat inside to access the free wifi and were impressed how the staff managed to maintain excellent drink service while also preparing light meals as the chef hadn't turned up. It was a busy day with cruise ships in and a very full alfresco area needing to be served. We enjoyed cold local beer, excellent New Zealand wine, a light meal, and finished with a first rate coffee. The Wine Library was a revelation with an eclectic wine collection, including a good range from Australian and New Zealand. It was the last thing we expected to see in Estonia. The restaurant had such a good feel we stayed far longer than we planned.

We went there as most restaurants were already booked Saturday night. Yet, we very much enjoyed our dinner, a cheese platter followed by lamb and a nice steak. There is also a big wine selection at very fair prices, even cheap wine is only marked up by about 75%. We went for a Brunello for 50 Euro that was excellent and enjoyed the direct view onto the Christmas market. While the ambience is not really chique, the wine made up for a lot. We would definetly go again and choose another one from their huge wine list. Be aware off the limited menue, though.

Best seat in town for watching people on the square. Everything else is average. Average food. Average service. Average wine (surprisingly few local wines, i.e., even eastern Europe. Even the wi-fi is average with stronger (free) signals from a few neighbouring spots. But great location! and nothing really wrong...
