Description: Located under the 12th Century Raekoda (Town Hall) building in the main square of Old Town Tallinn, Kolmas Dragon (or the Third Dragon) is a small medieval-themed tavern. This charming eatery with its beautiful-period interior is hosted daily by a group of petulant housekeepers whose job it is to entertain all-comers with their brusque and rude service manner. However this is all purely theatrical - a style that is closer to the behaviour that one would have received in the medieval ages. Specialities that are served include beef ribs, elk soup, savoury pastries, pickles from a barrel, teas, wines and the famous house beer. All those who enter should therefore be ready for not only tasty foods and beverages but also to some exceptionally entertaining service.

I love this little gem in the ancient square of the old town. Perfect Elk soup and pies served in rustic earthenware crockery, all washed down with a hot, foamy, treacly dark beer. Lovely medieval furnishings and roaring fires. Cheap as chips too, you can't really go wrong. A welcome shelter from the soul freezing December winds!

Awesome place! Great soup and pies. The morse drink is also very tasty. You can sit inside in darkened rooms where you can feel a real medieval atmosphere or outside with view to the Town Hall.

Was told about this place when I checked into my hostel. That same day I stumbled across it, went in and 2 bowls of soup, 3 pies and 2 beers later I left. Went back most of the days I was in Tallinn. The soup is amazing, the atmosphere is great.
If you're in Tallinn its is a definite must.

Had elk soup and pies. Pies were on the small side but delicious.
You order inside, take your own food to the table and return plates in to a basket inside. Easy place to work! Simple but delicious meal, yum!

This is great place. I was taken aback by the "What do you want?" as I entered and then I realized. OH this is the play acting. "What's good?" "Oh, a traveler are you? ...Nothing here is good. Life is nothing but hard work" I smiled and she almost smiled back but didn't break character.

The pub is located in the main square. The dimly candle lit place is cozy and has some seating in the front. The Elk Stew is not sufficient for dinner but with the sausages and pies you will be full and the price is very agreeable. The servers are wenches. They are saucy and sharp. This is their play acting and it fits them. If you joke with them they will joke back and your experience depends you your creativity. Think of it as an improv interaction. The pies range from beef, carrot, spinach, and tomato with a barrel of pickles to go with your food too. I ate here twice it was so good and the atmosphere so fun. "Another beer quick or I'll skip your extra coin!"

If you are using a phone or something of the kind in the tavern they will look at you and say something about the dark magic you are using.
