Normally we religiously check Tripadvisor before choosing somewhere to eat in a new place but today we called into this basement restaurant on a whim when we fancied a small evening snack and a drink. Had we seen it's 3.5* rating and lowly ranking in advance we might not have bothered but we would have missed a real treat.
We didn't order a full meal, instead three of us shared a few of their starters. As others have noted, the quantity of food was small (even for starters) but we all agree that the quality was sublime - especially the blood pudding (like English black pudding) with ligonberries and apple & celery mayonaise. We promised ourselves that we would post a well-deserved positive TA review to help balance the surprisingly average reviews to date... so here it is.
