So me and my travel companion arrived by train from St. Petersburg, which was during the night, so, considering I can't sleep very well on trains, I was quite tired when we got to the hotel. We got to the hotel much too early for check-in, at about 8 in the morning, but we put our bags in the storage room, very friendly service. After wandering around Tallinn for a few hours, we came back to the hotel, and were given the key to our room.

The room itself was very nice, it was very colourful, the design was very much to my liking, the bathroom was very modern and well-done. My expectations were way exceeded with the room. Everything was perfectly clean, functional, and comfortable. I loved it.

The hotel's lunchroom/breakfast room/restaurant/cafe is very pleasing, very nice design, again, very colourful. The food was great - a breakfast all-inclusive buffet was very tasty.

It has to be the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, just so youthful, so vibrant, and all the service was great- no complaints whatsoever. There was even two computers for the guests to use however they may please, internet also free.

Nice clean hotel, so near Tallink ferries on D Port. Still short walking distance to downtown Tallinn. Many shops (well, some only for alcohol...) nearby.
Not the fanciest place for romantic holiday but very good with old friends. Cheap beer in restaurant (but still so peaceful compared to Viru or Rotermann).
Friendly staff and good breakfast. But port and its traffic can give you noisy wake up call.

I had a wonderful 5-day stay at City Hotel Portus in January 2009. The hotel is conveniently located, both near the port, and also the Old Town (15mins walk away). There is also a large supermarket and a pasta restaurant nearby. The hotel staff are extremely helpful, and there is a hearty breakfast included every morning. Rooms are clean with a nice bathroom and TV as well, highly recommended!

Right on the deck of the D terminal of Tallinn port, this modern hotel offers a good quality stay in this windy city. Arriving is easy thanks to the direct connection from the airport with bus n. 2 which stops just 30 meters from the hotel entrance. Rooms are large enough, equipped with a TV with international channels. Bathroom has no hair-dryer and the shower has just a fixed half-door so having a shower could transform the bath into a lake. Anyway everything is clean and windows look at the life into the port terminal and this could be fascinating.
City-center is not so close and it takes a 20-minutes-walk to be reached. Very close to the hotel there's a big mall with some shops and a big Rimi's supermarket.
Breakfast is in the average, with tasty food but with a limited choice. On the 5th floor there's also a spa with a pool and sauna but prices appeared a bit too high.

Perfect room, excellent breakfast ànd, very important for me too, being a single man/traveller, a very friendly and helpful staff. I loved the city as well, so in short a must-go and see destination ànd place to stay!!
