I stayed here a long weekend with my friend, leaving husbands and kids at home aiming to spend much time in the spa and eating and drinking our way through Tallinn. We really enjoyed the hotel, super professional staff, delicious breakfast and excellent service. The spa was also good, we had a booked a treatment in advance which was a good idea as they do get full. The service at the spa was not much to brag about, the receptionist there has a really bad attitude, but other than that the treatment was very good. Would stay here again!

Dear Pia D,
Thank you for your kind review here on Tripadvisor on the Hotel Telegraaf in our beautiful Hanseatic city of Tallinn!
It was great to read that you enjoyed our hotel and our Restaurant Tchaikovsky, yet of course I am concerned to read your comment regarding the Spa receptionist’s attitude.
I have shared and discussed your comment with our Spa Manager, and we both would really appreciate it if you could contact us again at karmen.kohv@telegraafhotel.com with possibly a bit more detail so that we can streamline our training initiatives accordingly and can ensure a great and relaxing atmosphere and spa experience at our Elemis Spa (at the Hotel Telegraaf) for future guests and customers.
Also of course a great big Thank You for your nice comment on the Elemis treatment itself; and it is our pleasure to be able to welcome you back to the Hotel Telegraaf, our Restaurant Tchaikovsky as well as our Elemis Spa (with its small indoor pool and saunas) in the not too distant future.

With my very best wishes for a great sunny summer,

This was our second visit at hotel Telegraaf. I must say our first visit three+ years back was so much better...

This time we had executive double room as our stay was a short one. Room was lovely. But the sofabed, where our daughter slept, was horrible. It kept a squeeking sound everytime she moved, and we all ended up staying awake most of the night. (Hotel gave us a discount when we told the reception about the noisy sofabed.)

In the morning the whole family was tired and not on the best mood. And the breakfast was not as good as it used to be. The food selection was suprisingly few, they were running out of items on those, and we had to ask for more several times. Scrambled eggs were cold.

Room Tip: Make sure your room's sofabed is a quiet one before somebody goes to sleep on it. ;-)

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review from your past stay in October last year here at the Hotel Telegraaf; thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to write this review.
All guest and customer feedback is being screened, read, shared and discussed with all concerned and the feedback is also used for motivational purposes and to streamline our training initiatives.
As some time has passed since your stay I can only but thank you for accepting our most sincere apologies for the inconveniences caused.

Thank you for the kind comment of the actual room, its layout and amenities; we are sooooo sorry to read about the squeaking noise of the sofa bed. Feedback, especially here, is imperative to be able to improve.
In the last quarter of 2013 some of our sofa beds went into repair, thank you there for your feedback upon checkout, our Housekeeper in Maintenance Manager were able to react on this.
For your kind reference, the Hotel Telegraaf also features some selected rooms with connecting doors, especially designed for families traveling with children of all ages.

It was with sadness that we read that you did not like our breakfast buffet and its selection; you are mentioning the „food selection being surprisingly few“ and not as good as three years ago.
Please kindly allow me to explain that the actual standard buffet set up has not changed much since your first visit; on the contrary, we were able to add some additional dishes eg our „Estonian corner“; as before additional hot egg dishes can be ordered a-la-minute (eg eggs Benedict, etc) and guests can choose from a selection of jams, salmon, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, juices, cereals, yoghurt, muesli, fresh fruit, salads incl fresh fruit salad to name just a few.
Please accept our sincere apology that it felt different to you. Yet of course the hot dishes offered on the buffet should indeed be hot (the scrambled eggs, the porridge, the selection of vegetables incl mushrooms, bacon and sausages etc); we have a set standard that the heat-devices are being monitored and please accept our apology of this shortcoming; this has been discussed with our Service Manager and training initiatives will be streamlined accordingly.

Thank you again, with our very best wishes.

Very good location just few meters from Raekoja plats and 500 meters from shopping center Viru Keskus. Lovely and comfortable rooms with excellent service. We stayed at the old part of the hotel and the rooms were quite big. Loved the wooden floor.... also since i like baths the bathtub in the bathroom with a window to old town was excellent!

This hotel has a lovely mix of character and modern conveniences. Older buildings sometimes confer a stuffiness or mustiness but this hotel was clean, dynamic and we slept well. The decor was welcoming and tasteful without being opulent. A great fusion to provide a unique stay.

Restaurant - this is fine dining at its best. Quality ingredients, immaculate presentation and faultless service.

Room - stayed in a superior room. The attention to detail in this room is apparent - beautiful furnishings, spotless, and a very comfortable bed. It is the small things that matter the most and this hotel has nailed them.

Spa - a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Small but perfectly formed. What else do you need? oh yes and a pool.

The staff were extremely attentive and professional at all times, yet warm and welcoming. One of the nice hotels we have stayed in - definitely worth visiting.

Quality hotel in a brilliant location to explore and soak up this lovely old town. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.A top notch restaurant in the hotel offers a great evening meal ,but the same quality at a fraction of the price can be found at nearby venues.Suggest book early particularly at weekends. The communication/organisation from the hotel was first class and it was very nice to meet the manager who had time for the visitors-the small size surely adds to it's success.Flying from Manchester was a big plus[instead of Gatwick].

Room Tip: The room was fine.I have no complaints.
