Spent 2 nights with family and enjoyed a lot. Nice pool and spa, very good breakfast and nice view. We expected a better extra bed! I will come back and would recommend it.

The Swissotel is a newer, modern 30-story hotel a five minute taxi ride from the ferry docks and a ten minute walk to quaint old town. Stockmann's, Estonia's largest department store with supermarket is next door. Catering primarily to business people the hotel offers all services required incl. free Internet access, yet listening to music CD channels on TV incurs a 10 Euro charge.

Our 16th floor room #1608 was very spacious and offered an expansive view over the town and the harbor with ships coming and going. Comfortably furnished with all desired amenities including an Italian Lavazzo Espresso machine plus supplies, fridge, stocked mini-bar and safe, the room was bright, spotless, and quiet at night. The king size bed with great mattress and bedding was easily the widest we have ever encountered anywhere.

The spotless modern, spacious bath with tub and a separate glass enclosed walk-in shower, and a large vanity counter offered a nice selection of toiletries besides a Terry cloth robe and slippers.

The hotel was full with conventioneers during our stay, and with most of them on the same schedule the capacity of the breakfast room and staff was stretched. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired.

Staff, especially the front desk with super helpful concierge Harry spoke perfectly English and to a one aimed to please. All in all, the Swissotel offers comfortable, modern accommodations in a convenient location. We would not hesitate to stay there again at some future visit of Tallinn.

Had a room overlooking the port on 26th floor which had everchanging views of the different ships arriving and departing. The old town was an easy ten minute walk away. The executive lounge was well worth the extra money for us as we enjoyed having a drink before going to dinner. One night the food was so good in the lounge we didn't go out at all. We ate in the Horisont restaurant once and could recommend it, although it was a bit expensive.

Room Tip: Port view. Executive lounge. High floor.

The rooms were really comfortable and large, with big windows overlooking the city. Good coffee machine, king-size bed, rain head shower. Very modern and attractive.

Only one little niggle was the person cooking breakfast: maybe she was a trainee as she didn't know how to make an omelette - mine looked like scrambled egg with tomato in it! Not really good enough for this sort of hotel. And she also pulled vanishing acts as soon as one wanted a cooked egg.

Besides that, a great stay and a great hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a high room as you get a great view

I have been staying for work and with family is Swissotel. Rooms are great (from small type to suites), views are the best in Tallinn and service is just perfect. On the top of that you have a very good breakfast and nice spa. Sure old town has nice charming Hotels (i have been there also) but I realized that charm is not enough to choose a Hotel. My advice, you can have a great stay in Swissotel and anytime you can walk and enjoy old town if you want.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view.
