The hotel promotes itself as being remodeled in 2006, but the extent of the remodelling seems to consist of a giant illuminated picture on one wall. Despite being listed as a nonsmoking room, there were ashtrays in the room and the room smelled like smoke. The bathroom smelled of sewage, but what really made the whole stay unbearable was that there were no windows that opened in the room, turning the place into a fragrant sauna. Given the opportunity, I would rather skip the Metropol next time or stay at the much nicer Viru for a few kroons more.
