Location is pretty good - about a five minute walk from the Old Town, without being in the bustle and noise of the weekend nightlife, but plenty of local bars do surround the hotel, so more sensitive sleepers might want to request rooms at the far end or bring ear plugs. Even so, outside noise is perfectly reasonable. Breakfast is functional, but not delicious and not that cheap - I'd avoid it and wander into town for giant pancakes for a couple of Euros. Rooms are clean and bright - no complaints there, good value for the price paid. However, there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room which was a bit of a let down. Also - no A/C, so the rooms can get a little stuffy. My only real complaint is the service - no smiles, no eye-contact and no greetings from any of the staff. On check-out the lady on duty barely spoke to us - just a huffy gesture when asked where we could leave our bags. I'm no fan of over-the-top service culture, but without the basics it does leave you feeling quite a bit unwelcome.

Stayed during a busy day, the hotel must have been fully booked. You could see that during breakfast, guests were eating on the bar and the lines were long (when everyone decides to eat at the same time lines are unavoidable). Staff was cleaning tables on a fast pace. The breakfast itself was nothing special, I missed local pastry and bread the most. Rooms were spacious but a big disappointment was that our room window was facing the lobby. It was very hot and stuffy in the room and you could not even open the window. Decor was ok and the rooms clean. Bathroom was dated, but clean. Location is great, close to Old Town and the harbor. With a great deal I got, could come back for a budget stay, but in a room that has windows outside!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window outside, not the lobby.

Spacy, clean room; great views from the windows. Breakfast was very good. Less than 10 min walk to the Old Town. A bit noisy from the bars outside. It was a bit hot at dusk when the sun rays fell right into the windows, but was nice temperature the rest of the time. Also, I suspect, it is being too hot is not usually a problem in Tallinn.
Overall very good value for the money. We had a wonderful stay

Hotel Metropol is located well, but on a warm summer day, it was too hot in the room. Rooms are very small, even that we booked a triple room, it was tiny. Breakfast was the worst in my hotel visits, there was no waitresses to clean the tables or to fill the empty trades, You were lucky to get something else than dry eggs and coffee. Disappointed this time.

Room was really hot and didnt have a AC. Although the room was clean and tidy. We had to keep window open the entire night and the noise of the traffic and seagulls disturbed sleeping.
Staff forgot to give us towels in the room so we had to contact information in this matter.
Went to take a shower and the drain didnt take the water in properly..
Hotel is clean and modern, but all these little things annoyed me a little bit.
Breakfast was ok, but not amazing in any level.
Plenty of potential in this hotel, the location is good right next to old town and port.

Room Tip: Pay extra to get the air-conditioning at summertime.
