The hotel is very well located, clean and everything is OK for the price. The biggest disappointment was the service. The receptionists were not helpful, didn't smile and were rude to the customers. Breakfast was ok.

Right in the middle of the old town so you can walk everywhere. The staff were helpful and the rooms big. We are an older couple and the receptionist gave us a downstairs room. It did face the road and a bit noisy but really it was not a problem. Breakfast was ok although we were late and the hot food was just about gone, but there were other things to have.

The only thing that bothered us was the cigarette smell from the road. You have to open the top windows to get air in the room. People cannot smoke inside the hotel or restaurants so you see everyone standing outside the buildings smoking. If this annoys you then I would suggest a room not at the front of the hotel. There is no elevator and the stairs up are quite steep. it is an old hotel but then you are in the old town and this is what you expect.

Room Tip: stay in a back room if you don't want noise or cigarette smoke from the road.

Location is perfect in the Old town Vanalinn! The building itself is very interesting being some 600 years old. Rooms however are very different - and so is the standard. You can be in luck getting a spacious romantic room, but also unlucky ending in a tiny, noisy room.
Spent 4 nights and I won't come back. Don't expect any service nor a smile from the staff. Breakfast was poor (green eggs and dried out bread etc.).

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on 1st floor and you have a chance of getting a very nice room if it is in the 3rd or 4th floor. Travel light - their are no elevators here.

Charming hotel where we stayed one night in August 2013. Since we had read the reviews we did not have much surprises. Service was smileless but polite enough. We got a room on the roof level. Nice, wtih a neat bathroom, but hot! Receptionist gave us a fan to cool (?) the room a bit. There were two bed side lamps but either did not work. We got new bulbs from the reception to change them ourselves. We asked a quiet room and it was facing to the yard. There was a wedding party until midnight. As we thought something was coming, we asked that from the personnel and only then we were told about it. No worries, as we knew it now we only came back to the hotel at the time celebration was almost over. We slept well until early morning because of the noise from the corridor. Never mind. Breakfast was better that we expected. At least we got everything what we needed, we did not leave the beautiful (but hot) breakfast room hungry. Lots of stairs but we took it as a good exercise.

W arrived at St Olav to stay for four nights having spent a week in parnu. The receptionist never smiled and spoke the bareminimum to get us checked in. The room was ok but you need to have had a few drinks to get some sleep as it is a very noisy hotel. The location is excellent for seeing and getting around Tallinn. Breakfast was just ok.

Room Tip: Get a room as high as possible
