“I want to live there.”
Reviewed 21 September 2010

As soon as you enter the front door, you are in for a treat. The decor, the maze of corridors and then finally the rooms. I made the husband leave his rubbish outside the room whilst I took photos in it's pristine condition. Cosy but not in the small tight room way. Soft beds, Great bedding. Hot showers. Did I mention I want to live there.

Downside: i you have an alergy to stairs, you have a problem. There is NO lift and the chance of getting assistance with your bags is unlikely.

Stayed for one night in september. 2010 The Hotel has a very central location, close to restaurents and bars. Some small problems with the WIFI but is was solved.
I can recommend to take superior room or better.
I will recommend this hotel

I stayed for two nights in this place. It's clean, very well situated and the breakfast is ok. The interior is somewhat tacky, imitating a medieval castle. The cheap rooms are very small with no air condition and the walls are so thin, that you can clearly hear the conversations next door. Moreover, some rooms have a window towards the backyard (cafe area), which leaves you with the choice to open the window and listen to the noise or close the window and try to sleep in the heat.

Superb location, very helpful reception staff, good breakfast, very clean and an exceptional £40 per double room with breakfast included through hotel.com. The hotel has wonderful character with quirky corridors, uneven floors and even an oak beam at chest height on the 4th floor corridor. The only potential negative is the lottery on the room allocated. I've seen some previous reviews and you don't want anything 103-108 as these are all on the ground floor, smallish and constantly walked past. We had 306 on the 3rd floor at the end of a corridor, it was large, only one neighbour and the only problem we had was that it backs onto the internal courtyard where some noise was apparent. Our friends had a smaller room, 407, with only a velux window and no space for a wardrobe so clothes were hund on hooks on the wall.
Beds were comfortable enough, no aircon means it might get hot, but we were there when temp was about 20C so no problem for us.
You are not in the hotel room often so think about it. £40 per room for bed and breakfast in a European capital city. Centrally located, you work it out.
Tips. Try the Peppersack and Old Hanse for restaurants. Both excellent.
Don't change money with the money exchange booths, use Marfin Bank. We got 18.91
EEKs here whereas some of the booths were down at 15.84. Try the local market, Trans 2 and 4 get tyou there.

Overall a very enjoyable 3 night break

This hotel is great for location. Smack bang in the middle of the picturesque Old Towm of Tallinn. Beds are are good and breakfast tasyty with lots to select from. Would recommend a stay but on warm days (like this summer), the rooms are so hot you cannot sleep. How difficult would it be for Hotel Management to provide fans or aircondition units?

Mediaeval hotel with winding corridors where I got lost every single day! Great fun. Reception staff could not be more helpful. I think that websites should point out that the 2 advertised restaurants no longer exist - there is only a buffet breakfast. In a heatwave, lack of aircon is a bit of a problem. Also, noise from streets, especially demolition works going on from early morning until sometimes late evening just across the road
is a bit of a problem. Noise from the town, especially loud music, goes on until 0500. But the hotel itself is lovely, a real experience which I enjoyed very much.

The hotel is in a great location and has a beautiful exterior. Inside the hotel is odd in terms of decoration. However it makers a nice change from the usual chain hotel. The breakfast buffet is impressive if a bit scary with the raw fish. The staff were friendly also.

The main bad point is that my room on the top floor was like a sauna. I and other guests were complaining and asking for fans or if the fridges could be switched off which were producing a lot of heat but to no joy. I think I managed about half an hours sleep in total.

Also its not the best if your are not good with lots of staris. still for 35 pounds per night i cant complain really
