Previously we have had good and bad times here, but this time all was very good. We had a nice table on the 1st floor with plenty of room. Our waitress was excellent, polite and helpful. Food was served quickly, was hot and very tasty, with some very juicy beef! We paid 55 euros for 2 mains,2 desserts, beer and tea, which is reasonable for a town centre restaurant. Happy this time!

Thank Chris L

I wouldn't have choosen this restaurant, I went there only for a business dinner. others do, but I don't like fake-historical reconstructions all around indeed, and this is the case. Crowded by people, this restaurant is located in one of the most beautiful old town (real) buildings: waitresses in old dress, long wooden planks and wrought iron artifacts contribute to a Medieval illusion ...But as I tasted my main dish, steamed salmon with vegetables and rice, I changed my mind! It was the most delicious salmon I had ever eaten until now: a great portion of salmon without fat, delicate but savoured and sea perfumed ... Despite of waitresses embarassed by their long dresses, the service is quick and accurate; tables are without tablescloths, as seems to be Tallinn custom, and food is more considerable than price. A funny remark: the red sack hanging from the facade and which this restaurant is called from intends to remind the old commercial use of the building and is suitable to the ambience without being an eyesore

We had a group with 22 persons with preordered food. The service was good and fast but the food was not that good. The starters were ready on the table in big bowls where we everyone had to help themselves. The parfait we had for dessert was good and fresh on a hot day. The atmosphere was nice.

We, 46 students and 4 teachers, were on a study trip in Tallinn on May 2014 and we reserved a late dinner in Peppersack restaurant. The restaurant welcomed us as a group and when we arrived, they had almost 10 reserved tables empty for us as planned. The staff were obviously prepared well and the entry of 50 people at the same time went smoothly. a Waitress guided us to sit at the tables and everyone got the menu immediately.

The first impression about the restaurant was really good and the staff seemed professional. We had decided that every member of the group could choose his own meal from the menu, so the ordering took a little longer while the waitress went around the whole group. The restaurant offered its own beers, which included blonde, bronze, honey and herb beers and they were remarkably good. After having drinks and waiting a little while, the first ones got their food/dishes quickly. We were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant did not try to serve all of the meals simultaneously.

The food was tasty and the menu included many meals/dishes based on different meats. I had a meal that consist of tiger prawns, rice and vegetable wok. The size of it was medium but it had only five prawns in its entirety so it was a little disappointment even though the taste was good. Others in the same table had pork or chicken, both of them with oven potatoes. Those portions were a bit larger but (in comparison to) considering the price of approximately € 15 (which is high in the price level of Estonia) they were quite small too.

In conclusion, the restaurant was nice looking indeed with its massive old-fashioned wooden tables and chairs so it had a kind of medieval knight feeling in it. Actually, according to the waitress they present some fencing shows in the restaurant once every night. The food was slightly overpriced though but you can expect it in the old town. Overall, the experience was convenient and I would recommend the restaurant but maybe with some starters, so it is not the first one to pick for a student budget.
