“Solid choice, extra points for the swimming area”
Reviewed 7 July 2012

If you can get a good price on this hotel, it's a very good choice. We've been here twice, once the room facing the busy street, once facing the back side. The one facing the street has some street noise. The air conditioning controls are weird for the temperature part, as so usual. In our opinion the setting doesn't affect anything. Only the fan speed actually does something. We would've wanted to get 1-2 degrees more temperature, but turning off the fan completely is ok too. The bathroom is flawless, room size nice, interior is good. There are only average height pillows and we couldn't get a thin pillow at evening time (possibly at the morning it would've been possible to get one). The breakfast quality is more than average. The 8th floor swimming pool with two different types of saunas works very well, again a bit better than average. Enter your credit card number to the reception when you arrive if you want to order drinks at the pool bar (otherwise you can't bill your room for that).

This hotel is a very solid choice for basic, relaxing time. The service is friendly and the interior gives an overall feeling of spaciousness.

Room Tip: Ask for room not facing the main street if you are very hearing sensitive.

The Nordic is a very nice 4 star hotel mostly geared towards conference and business travellers and is pleasantly quiet for leasure travellers as well.

The check in was efficient and courteous, the staff proffessional and cheerful and we felt like we were appreciated as valued customers.

Our standard room was a double, wooden floors, very comfy beds, several tv channels and a well stocked minibar, a safe and a nice walk-in shower. Unfortunately, even though we arrived well past 14:00, the official check-in time, there were no towels in the room so I went to the reception to request them and had just returned to the room when there was a knock on the door and the towels were delivered. Any reqests were dealt with efficiently and with a smile.

Breakfast was one of the best I have had in Tallinn, everything from fried or scrambleg eggs, crispy bacon, beans (yes, beans outside Britain), pancakes and the Scandinavian "must" , meatballs. Unfortunately it gets crowded all through the morning, mainly becuse there are so many business travellers who can take their breakfasts evenly through the morning as opposed to the nearby hotels that serve large leisure tourist groups who all prefer to have their brekkie at the same time later in the morning.

Nice, quiet lobby bar, many guests taking the advantage of the free wi-fi although there is a good service throughout Tallinn, as I understand it boasts the best free wi-fi coverage in Europe.

All in all, the Nordic is a very good 4 star hotel, much better value than several of the nearby hotels and despite the fact that we had to request the towels, it is such a minor snag. That is the only reason I rated "cleanliness" less than the other services. We will definately stay at the Nordic again.

Modern, comfortable, has carpark (for a fee) connected by lift to hotel, location just outside the old city.
This hotel ticks the boxes but does not exceed in anything, perhaps because it seems to be quite busy generally as well as having bus tours pass through.
Reception staff were efficient and helpful, as were lobby bar staff.
As others have noted, breakfast can be very busy (even at 0700) with the requirement to search for a table. Breakfast choices are OK without being exciting, though they had some nice mushrooms on my visit.
Rooms are modern, which you'll love if you're into that style. Ablutions good-very good: we had a bath and shower overhead. Nothing to fault in the room (just nothing that excited us).
Tea/coffee making in the room (which is a bonus in this part of the world); bathrobes provided.
As in all of Estonia, wi-fi is free.
The lobby is on the large side and has a fair lobby bar with outside seating, which is great on a sunny day.
Overall, value was good to very good. I have stayed at other hotels in Tallinn and I think the Nordic is a good option. Recommended.

Room Tip: Higher up and at the front - overlooks the main road but not disturbingly noisy.

This is a nice hotel with a good location just outside the Old Town in Tallinn!
Reception: Helpful and kind staff, working efficiently taking care of the group I belonged to.
Rooms: Big rooms, soft and very comfy beds, dark colors and wall-to-wall carpeting (seems a bit 1970...).
Breakfast: Very crowded if you come at the most busy time. Too few staff to clean the tables (when I arrived there were around 10 uncleaned tables and there was a queue waiting...).
Conference: Very helpful and attentive staff.
Frequent Flyer: Be aware that even if they advertise that they will give FFM, they do not always...
WiFi: Free and good band width.
Overall: Fairly standard
