Big plus side - the staff. Very positive attitude at the front desk, with perfect English and a friendly manner. Most helpful when I needed assistance with the flight check in.
Our twin room was on the 7th floor and in a very quiet position away from the lifts and passing footfall. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. One slightly quirky feature to look out for is that the bathrooms are partially screened from the main room by translucent glass which really doesn't leave much to the imagination of those on the outside! Other than that bathroom was modern and well-fitted.
The hotel is, as other reviewers have noted, on the edge of the old town and therefore conveniently placed, eg the red bus open top town tours leave from just around the corner in Viru Square. The slight downside to this is that the hotel is on a very busy main road so if a tranquil situation is important to you you may wish to look elsewhere. Try to book a room on the higher floors (there are 8 altogether) to avoid noise from the street. Ours was quiet, though with a little background traffic noise, but not so much to be a nuisance. Air conditioning (which can at times be another noise nuisance) was very modern and quiet.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice. The hotel was busy but we didn't have a problem finding a table on either of the two mornings we were there. On our final morning we had to leave at 5.15am for the airport and were pleased to find that a mini buffet breakfast was laid out in the bar area for early departers.
We didn't use the swimming pool or sauna so can't comment on these. The bar area has comfortable seating.
Overall, a good choice for a Tallinn stay.
