“Friendly, helpful staff, good location”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

Big plus side - the staff. Very positive attitude at the front desk, with perfect English and a friendly manner. Most helpful when I needed assistance with the flight check in.

Our twin room was on the 7th floor and in a very quiet position away from the lifts and passing footfall. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. One slightly quirky feature to look out for is that the bathrooms are partially screened from the main room by translucent glass which really doesn't leave much to the imagination of those on the outside! Other than that bathroom was modern and well-fitted.

The hotel is, as other reviewers have noted, on the edge of the old town and therefore conveniently placed, eg the red bus open top town tours leave from just around the corner in Viru Square. The slight downside to this is that the hotel is on a very busy main road so if a tranquil situation is important to you you may wish to look elsewhere. Try to book a room on the higher floors (there are 8 altogether) to avoid noise from the street. Ours was quiet, though with a little background traffic noise, but not so much to be a nuisance. Air conditioning (which can at times be another noise nuisance) was very modern and quiet.

Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice. The hotel was busy but we didn't have a problem finding a table on either of the two mornings we were there. On our final morning we had to leave at 5.15am for the airport and were pleased to find that a mini buffet breakfast was laid out in the bar area for early departers.

We didn't use the swimming pool or sauna so can't comment on these. The bar area has comfortable seating.

Overall, a good choice for a Tallinn stay.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less street noise.

Stayed here for 2 nights in July. This is a modern hotel, with contemporary design. The location is perfect, right next to the Old Town. Also close to shops - if that is important. The room was very comfortable. However, the glass wall between the room and the bathroom was odd, I know some design hotels have these but I'm not a fan.The breakfast buffet selection was very good but it was VERY busy. We noticed when checking out that they had also laid the breakfast in the bar area in the foyer. It would have been a lot nicer experience. Service was Nordic efficient but not particularly friendly.

This is a reasonably priced hotel, 5 minutes walk from the entrance of the old town. There is really nothing wrong with the hotel, though it does not create any warm feelings, it is just a good hotel. Rooms are comfortable, though we missed coffee making facilities in the room. Smoking rooms are available. The breakfast buffet is great, there are many choices. Swimming pool looks great on the pictures but is in fact very small.

We chose Nordic Hotel Forum mainly due to the its good feedback from the other guests as well as its good location near the old town.
Service and breakfast buffet were very good. The room was also very well decorated and comfortable. The hotel is also near a shopping mall where you can browse around as well as picking up some groceries or drinks at their normal prices.
We would recommend this hotel to those visiting Tallinn.

A centrally located hotel in beautiful Tallinn. The staff was very friendly and helpful, room big and beautifully decorated and the bed was super comfortable. Excellent value for money!!
Breakfast had lots of variety for all kinds of tastes thou it was very crowded in the breakfast area (main holiday season). Nothing to complain and would definitely recommend this hotel for everyone!

I agree with what most of the other reviewers have said. This is a nice hotel in a good location. (Although, we had a bit of trouble finding it after arriving by boat from Helsinki--I think construction was blocking a few key street signs!) We ended getting some sort of a suite that had two rooms. (I am not sure what it was called…) This might be a good option for families with a child, as we had a roll away bed in the living area for our son.

Also, just to note, double check on the room service charges with the front desk if you get a suite! I was surprised that my room service charge was less than expected. (When does that ever happen?) Anyway, they told me they waived the room service fee because we were staying in a suite. I would have ordered a smoothie every morning had I known this, as the price was quite reasonable without the additional fee! We found the room service for breakfast to be very convenient and everything we ordered was delicious. It might be worth it to double check if this fee is always waived for people staying in a suite!
