First visit to this restaurant, second visit to Jurmala! We love Jurmala, we were there two years ago for my 50th birthday when we lived in Riga. It was warmer then in July, and much busier. This time there wasn't much open down the strip but it was still a nice walk in the cool autumn air.
Majorenhoff is nice and inviting, the atmosphere is very cozy and warm. Our server was very kind and brought our drinks quickly but the food took forever! Others that came in got theirs much faster we noticed. We were there a long, long time.
The pizza was really delicious as was the focaccia. When it came time to pay our check she took our money and then did not come back! She proceeded to wait on other people, brought them drinks, their food, etc. We began to wonder if we were going to get our $4+ in change. We were not sure what to do. Five minutes had passed and we finally asked her for our change and she said "It is coming, just wait!" I guess the bartender takes care of the checks! But it wasn't like he had them lined up out the door, we were the only ones paying.
Other than the long wait for food and to pay, the meal was very good.
