It's close enough to go into the town Jumala on foot, many many bars and restaurants. The BB is very well priced with an excellent spa and facilities.

Right on the beach, staff really nice.

Hard to fault.

The Baltic Beach Hotel looks very impressive when you first arrive in the lobby, all marble floors, soft furnishing, crystal chandeliers and chichi boutiques. Our room was in an older part of the building and a bit of a trek from the reception area. While it was huge, it looked like it hadn't been redecorated since the mid 70s. There was a decent TV and bathroom but the furniture and curtains had seen better days and although the room was clean, it felt really tired and shabby. It was a bit disappointing after experiencing the high glamour downstairs. The location of this hotel is excellent and a path from the hotel leads you onto the beautiful Blue Flag beach. A strip of bars and restaurants and shops is only a five-minute walk away. Breakfast is very good with a huge range of hot and cold food and excellent coffee. Overall, not a bad place to stay but we felt it was overpriced given the standard of accommodation, which was way below 4 star.

Thank you for highlighting some points at the rooms’ interior in 3* corps. We will forward them to the hotel management for consideration. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

We were on a short business trip (a conference) comming from Lithuania. We arrived in the morning and had to start our conference in some 45 minutes after arrival, thus we were expecting to have a quick shower and to change in our rooms as we traveled for four hours. However when we arrived we were informed that our rooms are not ready and they will be available for us after lunch, which was understandable, however when we tried to register after lunch we were told that there are still people living in several of our rooms and we cannot have them yet, so we had to wait till the evening and the staff could not offer us any other solution but to wait. It was very unpleasant, this situation, the staff did not care at all that we are not happy and had no intention of solving this problem, very indiferent. Truelly soviet service, it was such a let down of our whole experience. Otherwise the hotel is nice, especially if you are staying at the main building, but really nothing speacial except for the location.

Room Tip: Arrive after 15:00, otherwise you won't get your room.

we were asked for some additional payments "just in case :) if somthing happened" in addition to normal payment and reservation by Master card. all services are very Soviet style. I was writing requests more one one month just to get reserved "just in case " money back. Lets say mlns miles away from EU. Baltic Sea is very nice, and swimming pool with sea water very relaxing

Dear Marina V,
Thank you for posting your valuable feedback with regards to your stay at the Baltic Beach Hotel.
We appreciate the comments you have shared with us. Please be assured that those have been noted and addressed to the hotel management.
It is lovely to know that you enjoyed our great location by the Baltic Sea and swim in our 25 m pool with a sea water. And we are sorry that you were upset with funds reservation on your bank card. That is done for the convenience of guests, so that prices for the services they obtain in our hotel, could be credited to the general room’s bill. On the guest’s request, it is also possible to pay for services directly at the restaurants or SPA center. In this case funds reservation is done only for the mini bar.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your comments and we sincerely hope that we will be able to welcome you back to the Baltic Beach Hotel in the near future.

This is my first "poor" review. The hotel never made it from the tacky 1990s in the post-Soviet style. The owners are cheap.

Let me start with some basic data, so that you understand where I am coming from. The hotel advertises itself as a 5 star hotel. A good-sized room with a terrace sets you back 400 euros per night. Now on to some staff about the hotel that does not qualify it as even a 4 star, some amenities I would imagine would be 2 star, but I never stayed at a 2 star hotel, so it is difficult to judge.

The hotel does not have a concierge. When I inquired at the reception desk asking to get tickets for an concert advertised in the hotel's lobby, they sent me to town having given me the address of the concert hall. When I checked in, I was shown by hand in the direction where the elevators are, let alone be shown to the room, where I am staying. Well...

Let me describe the lobby - it looks like a provincial fair, not an artisanal fair at that - tacky fashions, jewelry of the worst kind, the entire lobby floor is covered in terrible shops selling cheap stuff at outrageous prices. There is always a get together for some corporation going on, so by afternoons, there are drunk boorish people hanging out in the lobby.

Room decor: cheap furniture, exposed heaters, bathrooms of a two star property (please see pictures) - quite disheartening. Again, I would not mind that in a 2-3 star hotel, but in a country that is 50% cheaper than most european destinations, 400 euros for a room that is decorated like a posh student hostel, is... well, just off.

Service people - nice and obliging. They try their best.

Spa - wonderful specialists, incredible massage, treatments, reasonably priced, tacky decor, no reception and resting facilities to speak of - I mean there are formal ones, that could be called that, but these spaces are in no way up to the task. Again, the only factor this can be contributed to is the cheapness and tastelessness of owners.

Jurmala in general - such a beautiful and tasteful town, so much incredible architecture, pine forests all around, it is a shame that such a monstrosity of a hotel could be found here. A factor that I can also barely decipher is why there are generally no hotels built here - Baltic Beach is considered the best in town, hence my absolutely misguided decision to stay here. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE IF YOU CARE ABOUT GETTING SOME VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY.

Room Tip: can't recommend any rooms, we were put in 309 - a terraced room, tacky as could be.

Stayed at the Baltic Beach for 4 nights. Let's start with the positives: the location in the beach is beautiful (even though there are limited common areas other than the restaurants to enjoy it) and the breakfast is really good. Can't really speak about the SPA since all treatments including entrance to the proper SPA area (versus the swimming pool) were not included. Lower category rooms are really run down and in some cases not acceptable even for a 3 star hotel; not only a question of size and view I am afraid. What however surprised me and upset me the most was quality of service which again was not appropriate for a 5 star hotel. This included but was not limited to not being able to follow through on a car rental and not being able to provide a map or correct information on the region (including not knowing opening times of the local tourist office). When called, the supervisor on duty was very helpful and took upon herself resolving some of the issues at hand. Having said that the infrastructure is what it is.... Not having been to other hotels in Jurmala can't compare but in terms of value for money would find it hard to recommend it.
