“Good Hotel , Good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2012

Good location just 5-10 min walk from the old town, well location near station as well.
New hotel with good breakfast and even better eve meals in "CUT" restaurant, Staff were very helpful at the desk. Rooms are good and new and very functional.

Room Tip: Ask for 8th floor - quiet and nice views of interior design of hotel

Stayed at this hotel 3 nights on business.

Very friendly, efficient and professional reception staff. Travel agent had booked a single room for me, no double beds available (as I like big beds). But before I was done checking in, one of the staff had already been up to the room and re-arranged the 2 single beds into one double. :-)

I had a room towards the inner courtyard, which was quiet even with the window open.

Otherwise the hotel is very modern, featuring WIFI in all rooms at no additional charge. Rooms are spacious and housekeeping is doing a good job. Very clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was very good, staff was attentive, also the bar has good simple foods. Rates, drinks and food are reasonably priced, even for a hotel.

Location is very good with a 10 minutes walk to the old town, access to public transport.

If I have one thing to criticize, it's the water pressure in the shower (very important to me). But I don't know if that is a "morning" thing or always like that.

Good modern hotel, with good location, but the rooms are really small, as well the twin beds.

We stayed here for a couple of last nights last week for my husbands birthday - lovely hotel, clean comfortable and very accommodating. Lovely rooms - we had the pleasure of an upgrade and fruit and a lovely birthday card from the staff - very thoughtful. But on the whole good service, good food, and a wonderful stay. We loved Riga. Thank you

The hotel is modern, while the buildings around are much older. Because of the new building, many things are great: the rooms are convenient, there are enough lifts to serve even the peak times, the restaurant is large enough for the breakfast, etc. The building itself makes the stay enjoyable.

However, even though the building is new, the sound insulation of the rooms could be better (and that's why I only rated this property very good, not excellent). In the night, I could hear music from the neighboring room. Also, when my neighbors were speaking loud, I heard it in my room.

Service on the front desk was very friendly and both early check-in and late check-out were possible, making our stay a lot nicer.

We had two rooms. I got upgraded to a business class room. The room itself was not any bigger than a standard room, but I had a view to the park across the street and got a small bottle of water and a chocolate every evening (that were brought separately, not as a part of cleaning the room). My room also had a bathtub, whereas the normal room had only a shower.

Although the location is quite central, it's not perfect. There are some restaurants nearby, but for extensive dining options, it was better to walk to the old town (about 15 minutes walk). There's a Narvesen kiosk about a 100 metres away, where it is easy to buy e.g. water (the hotel minibar had a 1,5 liter water bottle for 3 lats, in the kiosk it was about 0,50 lats with choice between still and carbonated, and in the supermarkets about 0,30 lats). There are a lot of shops in the nearby streets, but instead of walking through all the streets, I found it easier to take the tram to one of the shopping malls.

Breakfast was extensive. We went every day to have breakfast about 30 minutes before closing and every time it was quite packed in the restaurant (meaning a lot of noise, some lines and some items occasionally running out). Not the most relaxing start for a day, but the food was good.

Stayed here a few times, not the cheapest but very well situated in the centre of town. This place also has a bar on 25th floor called the skybar which is a nice place to sit and enjoy a great view. The breakfast is a buffet and has a good choice of things on offer. Will use this hotel again.
