This hotel is in a very good location, it is only a short walk from the old city and galerija centrs (5 min) and a stone throw away from the Origo center/Central station and Stockmann. The rooms are nice and fresh. On the same road to the right of the entrance is a very nice coffee bar/restaurant Double Coffee, great for lunch and coffee. We got a room on the top floor, which has only a skylight ,so it is kind of dark and not so good if you like fresh air at night.(we could have chosen a different room) We had the skylight open almost all the time as it was quite hot in the room, espesially at night. (they have aircon, but it made some noice and it did not get any colder) The biggest problem with the skylight is when it is open and it starts to rain, the water comes inside. Don't want to complain to much about the room as it could have easily been fixed by changing to a different room, but we didn't botter.
Breakfast was good, nothing special, but ok. Did not try the spa, it was being refurbished.
The hairdryer in our room broke, but they fixed it at once. There is a frosted glass door to the bathroom, but it is not a big problem because it closes quite thightly.
We bought a fixed price voucher to get to the airport from the hotel, to use in one of the cabs that is outside the hotel, we only paid 7 LVL. From the airport we paid about 10 LVL.

Room Tip: Don't choose the top floor if you mind that there is only a skylight and a little dark

Only good things to say 'bout the Opera hotel! There was some mess during check-in, but later they apologised with a bowl of fruits. I wouldn't say I like fruits, but in terms of attitude it was quite a pleasant move from their side. Booked a better than a standard room and really enjoyed it! In terms of location Opera Hotel is a very good choice - it is located just opposite the main train station, so alll the attractions are just a short stroll away.

Room Tip: Did not try breakfast so can't advise.

We stayed here between Christmas and New Year for three nights. Hotel was nice and clean and rooms were beautiful. Spa area was very small but very relaxing with one pool and two saunas. You need to make a reservation beforehand for the spa. They only let 8 people to go there at once. Breakfast was good but the breakfast room was too small and food ran out quickly. Excellent location!

Train station, main streets, loud neighbors. Don't buy "garden view" — there are a few trees. No parking (the staff will tell you to park in the shopping mall across the station square). Nice room design.

Room Tip: Don't hunt for "garden view" — doesn't worth it.

The hotel has recently undergone a full renovation and name change (can't recall what was the name before). Therefore everything was brand new which is, of course, always much better than run down properties ;) I have stayed with my grandma (who is 92 btw) and we enjoyed it. The location is very good - just across the road from the main train station. Old City Riga is within the walking distance (even for my grandma!).

When we arrived room was not ready yet, however, we were kindly offered some refreshments on the hotel account in the bar (tea is pictured). We had to wait about 20 minutes which was absolutely fine.

We stayed here for New Year and enjoyed it very much. Beautifully furnished and clean room, very good bed. Nice small spa for relaxation and good treatments. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. We will book this hotel again next time in Riga.

Room Tip: Upgrade to superior.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights, a great experience!

The staff is nice and friendly, the rooms clean and nice looking and the spa is good. We had a superior room, with access to the spa area for 1.5 hours a day ( treatments are not included). If you plan to relax at the hotel this is worth the little extra amount of money you pay.

The breakfast buffet is ordinary, neither a positive or negative experience.

What makes this hotel special is the relaxing atmosphere. The staff is great, and small things like making your bed ready for the night and placing a chocolate at your pillow while you're out dining in the evening, gives the extra touch that makes you want to come back!

When you get all of this, and have walking distance to everything in the center of Riga, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice hotel in downtown Riga!
