If you are looking for a connection to Latvian culture or history, you may be disappointed (I was). They told me the owner brought a sun back from Portugal in the 1970s, started collecting suns after that, and opened a museum. I had thought the sun was somehow important to Latvia. Anyway, if you want to learn about the sun it's great, but I was disappointed.

The sun collection is a growing attraction. They have very nice posters explaining the sun and astronomy as you come in, unfortunately these are all in Latvian. The collection of suns is interesting, especially the cultural suns from different countries of the world. You receive a small plaster sun as a memento as partr of your entry fee.

It is a very cozy place that fills you with positive emotions and lifts up your mood. It's both educational and playful, concentrating and relaxing. It's really different from traditional museums but worth a visit.

The best thing is that you do feel the sun everywhere around you as soon as you step in. The colours are perfect, the shapes are various, the suns are numerous, but it's really hard to capture any single object with your eye.

Still this is a pleasant place, and it can lift your spirits.
