Description: Paddy Whelan's - the first Irish pub in the Baltic's! Since 1995 we have been offering more than 50 beloved local and global beers and ciders, including the classic Irish Guinness, our own Užava, Brenguļi, Valmiermuiža and other beers, and many more. We also offer a wide range of foods, and because we never want to limit our taste buds, we have traditional Irish dishes, popular burgers and sandwiches, breakfast and lunch offers, popular Latvian foods for our local fans, and our pride and joy - homemade Indian foods at affordable prices! We are still one of the most popular venues in Rīga for live sports broadcasts, leisurely evenings, and a chance to meet local Latvians, local foreigners and guests of the city who have stopped by for a pint of beer, a glass of whiskey and a tasty meal. We are a member of the Latvian Association of Hotels and Restaurants, and we are delighted to help out in improving the hospitality environment in Rīga and throughout Latvia. No matter from where you come and no matter what you do on a daily basis, Paddy Whelan's will always welcome you. Come on in, have a seat, and enjoy a glass of beer. Maybe two.

“Irish Pub (not)”
Reviewed 22 February 2014 via mobile

Well as a first timer in Latvia and being an Irish person and a rugby
Weekend, I thought where other than an Irish bar to watch it , Well I was so so wrong .
1) The pub theme was no more Irish than i am going to win gold in the Olympics
2) Reading other comments on trip advisor about the GREAT staff , well I'm sorry they were all off tonight or the good staff only work Summer time because not one out of the 5/6 staff could smile or string a two sentence conversation (we are good at talking in Ireland I'm told )
3) For an Irish bar I think I'd say we should watch our native country on TV in English not FRENCH
4) The Beer is much colder and better priced in every other bar we tried
5) Stay away, go to local bars at all costs, more friendly and better prices/quality of bars elsewhere in the city......
6) Also reading other comments the English seem to claim this as there own bar, I agree this is more English bar than Irish

“Shame about second visit”
Reviewed 6 February 2014

Our first visit was excellent and would receive 5 stars but we decided to go back later in the week and this was disastrous. The food took an eternity to arrive and when it did it was stone cold. It was sent back and came back warm which was ok. when the bill came an amount of 58 euros had been added without any explanation and I queried this which was subsequently deducted but no explanation was offered. Our party always leaves a tip but because of the above we did not.

After reading reviews on here about paddys I was actualy looking forward to going, especially with all the hype about the atmosphere etc. We arrived around 9pm to an empty pub, music was very quiet, bar made was polite and friendly, however when we sat down the other waitress came over twice within the space of 5 mins to ask for a food order so we felt she was slightly pushy, we decided not to order food, finished our food and made a swift exit.

Maybe it was quiet due to the time of year we went and the day we went on, I dont know, but we was disappointed.

Thank Craig B

“Great times and value for money”
Reviewed 16 November 2013

located in the very heart of Old Riga it is only a step from anywhere you need to go. Friendly staff speaks in a several languages and wide choice of good food and beer and beverages reasonably priced.
Kitchen offers much more than it is in "usual" pubs.
Perfect spot to watch a match on numerous flat screens and enjoy a meal and beer or two.
Also available free WiFi!

“Great !”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

While staying in Riga, this restaurant / Pub became one of my favourites.

The staff is very nice and the dishes are typical British.

On the second floor the walls are covered in football jerseys and it's a perfect place to watch football games while having a beer.

Almost any day this pub has karaoke or some kind of special activities for its customers.

I strongly recommend it !
