“Beautiful hotel, excellent location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2012

I recently spent 2 nights in this wonderful hotel located in Old Town Riga. The room was quite spacious with a kitchen, sitting area, big comfy bed and a nice sized bathroom with a big soaking tub. The architecture of this hotel is quite impressive and the rooms inside do not disappoint. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and was delicious with a variety to choose from: eggs, pancakes, fruit, cereal, breads and pastries, meats and cheeses as well as strong and good coffee and tea. We visited the spa while there and had the most relaxing and enjoyable foot massage/treatment. The staff was courteous and helpful and arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport. I would definitely stay here again if I were to visit Riga again.

We had a room with a twin bed, on the top floor (6th). It had great views, both east and western oriented. The hotel is quite new and impeccable, there is nothing rustic or bell époque. The location is fabulous, right in the center of the Old City. We'd like to add that the restaurant of the hotel has a great kitchen and boosts a perfect staff, unlike any other restaurants in Riga (very slow, not customer oriented).

Fabulous, modern, clean hotel with excellent bathroom amenities. Extensive buffet breakfast and plenty of it although the bacon and eggs could be hotter. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We went on many tours and have seen a lot of this town and surrounding districts including many museums. Ideal location.

I have stayed there for two nights, in whole I liked this hotel, especially very nice were personal, very professional.

But there were some negative experience: first of all, on the second day the sauna stopped working, stuff told me that they have started the reconstruction of sauna, but there wasn't any prior information about that on their web site.

And the second, I asked for receipt when I was checking out, but one of the girls in reception told me that they will not give me any receipt because I have ordered the room through internet. This is what I have met first time in my life, but all my explanations didn't made any sense to them and so I left the hotel without receipt.

Curved alleyways, old cobblestone streets, and city plazas from medieval times surround this wonderfully located hotel. Such a pleasure to step out your door, and immediately find yourself next to museums and cultural installations, alongside wonderful architecture. It almost feels unreal, like you're in "Disneyland."

Also, you can easily walk to the Jugendstil district in "new" Riga, to the Central market with its farmers and food merchants, and to the parks and other districts that encircle old Riga.

The hotel has comfortable and spacious rooms with good closets, a safe, refrigerator, stove-top, microwave, and various dishes and cutlery. (But we didn't find pots and pans and wondered how we'd use the stove-top.) The spacious desk has outlets for plug-ins and computers. WiFi worked well and consistently.

In addition, there is a basement laundry facility. For two lats, you can do a load of wash including detergent, use a dryer, and then iron your load. This was very convenient.

The gym is tiny but adequate if you happen to be the only one using it.

Also the restaurant is excellent. The prices are not really different from most of the surrounding eateries, but the quality is much higher. The wine list is decent too.

When we left the hotel at 5 am for an early morning flight, the staff packed huge breakfasts for us as a send-off. Such a nice gesture.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Fabulous boutique hotel in the heart of old Riga in very quiet street.Had some friends stay at the raddison and it was like comparing chalk and cheese ! So glad I chose this one, staff super friendly and helpful especially when I lost one of my travel cards.

Good choice of meals , breakfast lunch or dinner. The rooms are larger than most with kitchen , sitting room and very modern bathroom. Also a reading room and a sauna which I did not get a chance to use. Beds are very comfortable, great if you are a light sleeper like me.

When I come back this will be the only hotel I would stay at, this hotel ticks all the right boxes. No hesitation in recommending.

Room Tip: if you are a super light sleeper ask for a courtyard room !

This was our first visit to Riga and we chose this hotel after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. We were delighted with our choice. The hotel is extremely comfortable. The rooms are well furnished, well equipped and of a good size. The hotel itself - apart from being an architectural masterpiece - is perfectly located in the old town within walking distance of pretty much everything but at the same time, it is quiet. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is also excellent. I can't think of any faults during our stay there and have no hesitation in highly recommending this hotel.
