I absolutely loved this hotel - a lot of charm and the perfect location. It's in a beautiful old building that has been lovingly restored, but there are quirky modern touches such as the funky light fittings in the breakfast room. A very well designed hotel.

Do try to get a room on a higher floor - you get fabulous views of the city. Mine had great views of Riga's dome, right from the bed. What a great view to wake up too! Loved the room - spacious, comfy big bed, nice deep baths, amazing views, handy kitchenette and free wifi.

Location is perfect too - a few minutes to the cathedral, just around the corner from House of Blackheads... Even the art nouveau district is only about 15 minutes walk away.

Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was included - do make sure you try the pan cakes! Yummy.

A real gem in a real gem of a city. I loved Neiburgs and really enjoyed Riga - perhaps not as well known as places like Prague but full of beautiful architecture, easy to walk around (safely!) and with lots of places with free wifi. Definitely worth a visit!

Just returned from a one-week long holiday in Riga. We loved almost everything about this beautiful old city where the local young generation is doing a great job in rebuilding, maintaining and further developing their heritage.
We stayed 7 nights in Neiburgs in a two-storey deluxe suite with excellent views on the whole city on every direction (6th floor). As mentioned by other guests, the only downside is the noise coming from the bars from the neighbourhood. This is the reason for the lower points for the sleep quality. On the other hand the hotel is in the very centre of the old city every major attraction is in walking distance.
The suite had at the first floor build in wardrobes, a living room with kitchen and a separate toilet with a sink. At the second floor was the bedroom with a workplace (desk) and the bathroom with tub, sink and a second toilet.
The breakfast was very delicious but with limited choices. Do not expect the variety and muesli abundance like in the TUI guests frequented Spanish resorts, but the quality of the locally prepared food outpaces most of them (and some cereals were also present). Don’t forget to try the desserts and the cottage-cheese specialities!
The staff was professional and efficient and like the vast majority of the people involved in Riga’s tourism they also had a solid English knowledge. Small-talk is not part of the Scandinavian culture and Riga is Scandinavian in this aspect for sure, whenever possible they will respond with a smile or a bow instead of lot of sentences.
Wifi coverage was very good everywhere in the hotel, I measured 10/10 Mbits with a server in Vienna! In the city too you will likely find good free wifi access at any restaurant or even in public places.
My advice: visit Riga and stay at Neiburgs!

Room Tip: Higher floors have splendid views of the city.

Location is great on the edge of the old town, rooms are nicely decorated and fittings all very modern. The mini kitchen facility would be handy if one wanted to fix a snack, etc. Of the approximately 9 hotels I visited on my recent European trip, this was my favourite. Restaurant was also very good. It deserves 5 stars.

Room Tip: On a quiet street in the old town and in a refurbished Jugend Stil building, it is solid and very qu...

My first time to this hotel was 5 years ago it was quite new at those days. I was really impressed but I am even more impressed now by the quality of the hotel staff especially reception.
Spacy room with large windows create unique atmosphere of Riga Old town. Despite it's old town you can hear the waves of Baltic sea on a very early morning. Location is perfect, services perfect and very nice food at the restaurant! Thanks to the team who made my stay absolutely perfect.

I have just finished a 3 week bike tour of the Baltics and this hotel was by far the best place I stayed. It is a beautifully restored Art Nouveau building in a great location, our room was spacious and stylish, the restaurant was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was more expensive than most of the other places we stayed, but I think it was good value for what we got.

We had a query about a very high laundry charge after we had left and the hotel staff dealt with it promptly and kindly, organising a partial refund.

I would definitely come back here!

Stayed a few nights in a beautifully modernised Art Nouveau hotel in the centre of the old town. The hotel is maintained to superb modern standards with a/c, free wifi, deep baths and kitchenettes equipped with kettle, refrigerator, minibar (reasonable prices) etc. The hotel has managed to retain elements of the original structure and the rooms on the top floor (6th level) are duplex with a sitting area and kitchenette and the sleeping area above (not suitable for the disabled though).

Restaurant and service is outstanding. The cuisine is of a high standard and there is an extensive menu. The hotel is right in the centre of Riga and a short walk to everything of interest, except perhaps the remarkable art nouveau district, which I walked to but is 15-20 minutes walking. I received personal attention during my three visits. It is thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: I was given a duplex 'apartment' on my return visits that offer views across the city.
