“Great way to see the sights”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

This bus goes every hour in winter ( starting 10.45 ) and leaves from the Town Square. It costs €15 and covers two routes the red and the blue lines each taking about 45 min and one joins on from the other. The headphones and commentary work well and I would recommend just staying on the bus and getting an overview as you can walk later to most areas. The bus does not do the old town as the streets are so narrow .

“Forget the On & Off Bit”
Reviewed 22 May 2012 via mobile

This isn't a big operation and another bus from the same company will not be by every 15 minutes to carry you to the next attraction...if you stay on the bus and use the ride for a kind of orientation ride to get a fix on where things are in relation to the old city , your hotel, etc it's ok...but don't expect a wealth of information or a London or Berlin jump off and on the bus trip.

“Good tour, when it operates”
Reviewed 2 February 2012

There are two tour bus operators in Riga. A yellow bus (this one) and a red bus. Both are hop-on hop-off. Our hotel offered a discount on the Yellow bus system and we signed up for their two day pass since we were starting in the afternoon. First day was excellent. The headsets offer multiple languages and are synched with the bus location. The next day we wanted to do the remainder of the tour so we went to where we had been left off the previous day, which also happened to be their starting location. We waited for 30 minutes pass the announced starting time. Then went to see the Occupation Museum (right next door). Came out at the next starting time, no bus, again. Meanwhile, the driver of the red bus had seen us standing around waiting. He came over and invited us onto his bus, without asking for a fee, even though we had paid for his competition. Very nice man and we got to see the section of town that we had missed the previous day.

“Worst waste of time--they should pay us to go on this”
Reviewed 25 April 2011

We spent spent 90 minutes on the bus listening to 5 minutes of history, 10 minutes of trivial details, and 75 minutes of music. The most important information of the tour seemed to be height of buildings and spires. I am sure that there is much more interesting history behind Riga and would have loved to hear it. Save your time.
