“Night at the Opera (ballet actually as Opera was not on)”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

Sleeping Beauty was a delight to see. Music was wonderful, building delightful and the experience extremely special. This is what an opera house should look like and everything from the gilt decor to the little brass tokens for the cloakroom transported the audience to a bygone era. Highly recommended and inexpensive too.

“Real opera”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

This is the way how an opera building should look, absolutely beautiful.
We got the the tickets at 10 in the morning, when it opens, and saw a show from 7 to 10.
In between were breaks in which you could admire the enchanting and splendid opera building.
A definite must see!

Lovely presentation in a wonderful old opera building. Ballet and orchestra shined! Tickets were about $16.00 for first row balcony. Splendid!

“Great value for money”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

I'm not enough of a student of voice to comment on the singing with expertise. But to my ear it was as good as I have heard. It's not a large house which puts everyone close to the action an gives a sense of intimacy. The acoustics were good and the price a bargain compared to a comparable opera in the US.

“Swan lake in Riga Opera house”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

The Opera House is very preserved and classy - like a big Opera Houses in Europe with 3 balconies and sitting boxes all with red and gold..
The ballet was nice with excellent prima ballerina
