“Excellent View”

View of Riga from St Peter's Church Tower
Ranked #23 of 313 things to do in Riga
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Obviously you need to choose a clear dry day and try to go first thing or later in the afternoon, as for any tourist viewing site. And the E7 ticket is pricey but then most tourists will only visit Riga once and it will have cost you a lot more than that to get there. So it's worth it to grab the opportunity and have a really good view of the city in all directions. It's actually a couple of years since I've been there and I thought that I'd walked up the Tower but maybe that's changed now...

Although the view is good, the price to go up the tower is 7 Euros which is quite high. The area at the top of the tower is small, but the crowd is limited and controlled.

Exorbitant entry fee, followed by a long queue to get on the elevator. You then arrive at the tower only to find it completely crowded with very little space to move around. Getting back down on the ground wasn't easy either. The view is pretty nice though.

There is an elevator to the top. On clear days, there is a nice view in all directions. The elevator goes often and is not expensive.
