This museum was part of our tour. We really enjoyed this cultural landmark, the history behind it, the opulent interior and faux marble however the exhibits and displays were not that exciting, the permanent collection was a nice selection. The lady in the storage area gave our bag to someone else and luckily we got it back so beware if you check anything downstairs.

Visiting this museum was a very pleasant experience. There were cabinets of French, German and British porcelain as well as oriental vases and much more. Many painting were from artists with which I was not familiar so seeing their art was so good.

Lovely building with a fairly broad range of art. What did most astonish us was the amount of great paintings from artists that are not very famous or hardly ever covered in museums. Nice audioguide .,

The refurbishments of this building only finished in 2011 and so the exhibition spaces compare very favourably with other modern galleries. We went specifically for the Silver age of Russian art exhibit. There is a charge but again compares with other galleries museums in Riga and a lot cheaper than those in the UK. The exhibition area we attended enabled the staff to very sympathetically display the paintings. The glass covered central quad is another amazing space. There is a small gift shop with the usual gifts and art books. It was a pity we did not have a chance to visit the rest of the building.

Fully renovated Art Museum Riga Bourse is located in the former stock exchange building. The renovation just made of this building an outstanding exhibition space...in some ways even over-helming the expositions unless you really like the 16-19th century. There are several rooms for temporary exhibitions but rarely show modern art an focus more on past centuries which is a little bit pity...
Despite that, the Museum is worth visiting. Do not forget to raise your head when you enter the main atrium to check out the magnificent gondola floating in the air!
