A group of six adults stayed in this hotel in June for 4 nights, the staff were very friendly, and spoke good English.
I would recommend getting a Junior suite as the ordinary rooms are small, though you do not get a fridge or coffee making facilities.
The room & public places were very clean, breakfast was included and though basic was adequate, they had a bar area with limited opening time, but you are so close to all the bars & restaurants. Also your are near all the sights & amenities. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor overlooking ST Johns church, very quiet

Recently stayed here as part of a group organised trip. The location is quite marvellous as you are right in the middle of the "Old Town" with beautiful buildings, shops, restaurants and bars all just a step away. However, the hotel seems to have it's own little courtyard and alleyways which make it nicely quiet and private.
Our ground floor room was spacious and clean with adequate bathroom facilities.
The breakfast was very chaotic as the layout in a long hallway means when too many people come all at once it is all a queue. Sometimes refills were slow. This is a shame as the food itself was very nice with a fair choice on offer.
Staff were pleasant but our set dinner in the restaurant one evening lacked taste and ambience despite the name of the restaurant! It was also stuffily hot and uncomfortably airless.
That said I would stay there again but eat out.

We were having a business team meeting at the hotel, and everything worked very well. Beverage like coffee and water was very expensive though, but good internet connections and ok meeting room. Rooms were large, clean and nice, and had aslso good internet connection. But only a very old tv from the 90'ties and no English language channels. Staff was young and needed more supervision. But considering the room prices I can recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Order the junior suite - if available.

Konventa Seta is an average hotel but very well located in the middle of the old town. It is a collection of several old houses, the interior (in the main building) is a bit tired and could do with some refreshing/maintenance.
Breakfast is is served in adjoined (self service breakfast) restaurant "Ambiente" and it's OK but sometime crowded and the staff was often late to refill. Service in the hotel was just average, once I had to look all over the place for someone to help me at the main desk. Our room was on the ground floor, pedestrian street near our window and sometimes a bit noisy in the evenings. Short walk to the many coffee houses and restaurants in the old city.

Easy to walk to the market and the mall that are close to the old town, and another large mall only 50 m away. Recommend a bike tour if you want to get a quick look of the old town and it surroundings.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the street and not on the ground floor.

My friend and I stayed here in May 2013 and really enjoyed the hotel, staff and the food!
Excellent location - right near the restos, bars and clubs but in the evening it is dead quite as the public access gates are closed behind the hotel so you can sleep easily and peacefully.

The breakfast was good with a great variety of food. The staff were friendly and helpful also which made the stay very enjoyable.

Improvements could be a larger shower (its small!) and a safe in the room.

I would reccomend this hotel and would stay here again.

Hi just back from a week with my auld dad in Riga...he's Latvian so you would think ... no probs with the language then... He's almost totally deaf.... so it was up to me to do most of the talking, etc. In Latvia, Riga there is no problem as most people will go out their way to smile and to chat with you, but almost like in any other country they take pleasure if you can speak the odd word or two. Ofcourse there are the odd folks who if they were to smile their faces would crack, but hey don't you get that everywhere. The staff in the hotel were brilliant I have to say....

We have stayed in Riga on numerous occassions, but this was our first time to Konventa Seta. Can't honestly say a word wrong about it. It was perfect for us, the price we paid for B&B was fantastic. The rooms were cleaned every day, as were the towels. Our room was on the first floor of the main building so we were lucky to be afforded a lift, which after a long day traipsing around the sights was most welcome. The staff couldn't do enough for you and there is a young lad on reception at night who was fantastic and spoke as many differing languages helping and assisting new comers to the town.

Breakfast was plentiful with all the usual stuff and macaroni!! Odd individual rooms to breakfast in and the waiting staff were constantly coming round to clear the tables. We both loved our stay here and are already planning our next trip. The hotel is in a fabulous location bang in the centre of the old town, you don't have to walk far to reach most things... the parks are beautiful... as are the shops....too many too short a time to visit them all, museums, if you like that kind of thing are all free to get into. I have just one thing to say though about the hotel beware if you are staying in the main building there are lots of tourist groups stopping for photos etc.....

Riga, though quiet through the week, is very busy at the weekend so be prepared for some noise from all age pleasure seekers until the wee small hours on the morning....

The hotel is in the middle of the old town with narrow streets and sometimes hard to get to by car.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are in differnet annexes and behind a lot of stairs. This is certainly not a hotel for disabled and elderly people. Our room was towards the yard, which again is part of the old town with very narrow streets. The next house wall was 2 meters away. As the room was only occupied with reading lamps the room was almost dark. No noise though. The buffet breakfast was normal but rather crowded.
The hotel has an agreement with a guarded parking close by.
Next time in Riga will involve another hotel.

Room Tip: If you are elderly or disabled, please tell the hotel in advance.
