“Very comfortable and good service”
Reviewed 19 October 2012

I was lucky to be placed in a business class room which was very spacious and comfortable with desk, coffee machine and a large bed and bathroom. The rooms did look like they need a little updating but I was very happy with the room that I had.

The conference room was very good although there are a number of pillars which can obstruct view. The hotel had a good location on the riverfront and the views in that direction were very nice.

Staff were always helpful

Room Tip: Try and get a business class room. Very much worth it.

stayed here for two nights for a conference. I gave i only two stars, because although the room was spacious and clean, it does not live up to the expected standard of a four star hotel!

check in unpleasant and not very wiling to help/ answer questions
shower with low pressure and coldish water.

The hotel has seen its best days long time ago, and is rather like an outdated 3 star hotel with slightly bigger rooms.

This hotel was a disappointment, because it was listed as a 5 star hotel in Trivago.fi hotel search, although it actually is only a 4 star hotel. The standard double room was small and modest and it had two small beds (80x200cm). None of our requests made during booking concerning the room and the beds etc were met although the hotel was nearly empty during our visit. The swimming pool is small and shallow. Breakfast was excellent and included in the room price, which was rather cheap. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dinner was ok, but not something to recommend. The rooms don't have soundproof doors. There's a pay-tv trap which you may easily order by mistake if you are not careful enough to read the tv guide texts. A friendly receptionist removed that item from the bill by request without further questions. We asked for late departure and we were allowed to use our room until 6 pm without extra charge, which was great.

Room Tip: The hotel has different size rooms half of which have a nice view to the river Daugava. The standard...

Just to start with, it is really clean everywhere at the Radisson Daugava, nothing to complain about that. But the hotel have seen better days. The interior are probably from the seventies or eighties. Looong corridors with some beige walls, an ancient door where you can hear everything through. Nice bed though but old bedcover. The breakfast looked OK when coming down in the morning, but it was not the usual quality. I would say more touristclass. Cheese cut in small pieces so you shouldn't take to much, the bread tasted wheatflour and was obviously not baked enough. The fruitsallad was cut in tiny pieces, more a mash, and tasted really nothing.
So then the summary: Yes it is OK to stay there but don't expect the normal Radisson standard

Hosted an international convention here. Staff were superb in their help. Language no issue, and no problem I raised remained aproblem. It is close enough to the airport and old town to make it worthwhile. Good rates and good food. Only one restaurant but that was no problem. I highly recommend checking this hotel as an option if you're planning a meeting/conference or something similar.

Room Tip: Try for above 6th floor and river facing - the view is stunning

The hotel is quite OK but the rooms are somewhat old and worn. However everything was clean.
I got a room facing the back of the hotel with a yard. These rooms were silent enough. The room was however very hot due to the afternoon sun and the air-conditioning didn’t help much. The front desk send an engineer and he claimed it was no problem with the unit. However he checked several rooms for the most efficient air-conditioning unit. That was really helpful. So I moved to a room where the air-conditioning worked better.
Ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The food was OK and the breakfast buffet had a lot of choices but nothing was spectacular.
As the price was very low with European standards I got a lot of value for the money.

We had a seminar for 120 persons. All the arregements were without major problems. Food was pretty good allthoug about 20 partisipants got sore stomack from the fish but it was over in half of a day. Part of staff was very helpful and spoke good english but part was not so friendly and helpful. Serveice depended much whom we did ask.

Our meeting rooms were very well marked and there were sodas and water all the time in the rooms. Ices were plus. Rooms were good and ac was huge plus. There were no noise from inside the hotel or from the street.

Location is nice. It takes only 10 minutes walk across the bridge to the old town.

I can recommend thsi hotel for a seminarplace and for businesstrip. There were no good places for kids - atleast I didn´t saw them.

Room Tip: Take room towards river Daugava, they should be renewed.
