When I pulled up I was ready to find a different Hotel. Looks dated, old & dirty on outside. Inside is very clean, staff was efficient. Rooms may be worn but are very clean. Breakfast was great & I asked for a cappuccino every morning with the buffet and staff obliged even when they were busy with a dining room full of people.
View of Old Riga is beautiful from Hotel & easy access across bridge makes it a location I would return to. Don't judge it too harshly by its exterior.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of May. Our room was very large with comfortable beds, a sofa and armchair, as well as a desk. The bathroom was a decent size, with a heated towel rail which was very handy for drying some washing! The air-conditioning was noisy and not effective for the size of the room, so had to be left on constantly to make an impression. No safe in the room. This hotel is about a 10/15 minute walk across the bridge to the city and all the major sights. The breakfast buffet was rather limited and laid out in a very small space.

Our room was very well appointed and included a large flat screen tv, coffee machine, fridge, safe, 2 seater settee and chair, desk plus free wifi internet, bath and shower, hairdryer, iron and ironing board plus aircon. It was airy and very well lit and the comfortable double bed was probably the largest we have ever slept in. The breakfast was excellent, with a great deal of choice. Coffee pots on the tables allowed one to help oneself.

The wonderful view, through the large windows or from the small balcony, included the market buildings, numerous church spires, the castle and three bridges. We made a request for a late check out (6.00 pm, no extra charge) which was granted and much appreciated as we had a late flight out of Riga. In addition, the airport bus - details from reception, including how to buy a ticket - stops very close to the hotel offering pretty much a door to door service. The tickets cost just 1 lat for the two of us - compare with a taxi at 10 lats - and the bus ran exactly on time.

Best of all was the service we received from the smiley receptionist at check in to the very polite and unobtrusive staff who cleaned the room or delivered a bottle of water daily. I made a request for alternative bedding and this was provided most promptly. The barman was also very pleasant and attentive.

Would I stay again? Well, it is unlikely that we will be in Riga again but if we were then yes, I would. Any downsides? We stayed a week and went into the old town at least every day, sometimes twice, and we did get a bit fed up with the walk over the bridge. However, had we been more organised, we could have taken advantage of the hotel's free shuttle bus service to the old town which should be booked in advance. The rooms could do with some updating but were clean, well equipped and comfortable.

Room Tip: We had a very spacious 7th floor room with big windows and balcony overlooking the river and the old...

I have been coming to this hotel for some 12 years now, and not much has changed.
The staff is friendly, yes, but the rooms are still the same I remember them for ever.
The place needs some very serious upgrading!
There are 4 Radissons in Riga, this one might have the best view in case you get a room overlooking the river, but it is not what one expects.

Room Tip: Towards the river

Overall impression - I was left wanting. Wanting to go home.
Stayed 4 nights for a conference. Lobby very nice. Great view of Riga. Spent quite a bit of time in the lobby instead of my room. I got a room overlooking Uzvaras Park ,which meant getting a good look at how the locals lived right next door... Best feature was the bed. Firm and clean.
Dated room furnishings. The large gaps under the hotel room door made them bang loudly when any air movement passed through the corridor.
Internet worked, adequate but at times slow.
Hotel staff were helpful, just don't expect a smile. - Hey that's pretty much Latvia in a nutshell. -
Gym was well equipped, but cramped if three people want to do a free weights session at the same time. Machines a plenty. Pool - slightly over chlorinated and gave a feeling that it should be a public swimming pool not a Radisson Blu. Sauna was clean and well maintained.
Food - nothing to write home about either, again adequate.

Room Tip: Avoid room numbers X-12 to X-29 (X being floor number) as these are on the back side of the hotel (n...

The hotel is just across the Dougava River and few minutes walk away from the Old town! The rooms are immaculate clean and all have views of Riga. The breakfast is all you can eat with a wide choice and surely be enjoyed even by touchy eaters!!!

Room Tip: Ask for river Dougava views. Those who prefer a little quieter should ask for inner rooms.

We had two nights here which unfortunately clashed with the annual Marathon. This made the hotel very busy and the staff tired and unhelpful. The room was clean, though tired, and had a lovely view across the river to the city. The food at Dinner was cold, and as it was a buffet we did have to ask for more as most dishes were empty. Breakfast was good, with a chef providing eggs cooked fresh....
