After reading the reviews, I was expecting a quality experience and was disappointed when I did not receive one. First of all, we were given probably the worst room in the hotel. It was on the first floor with no view and did not look like any of the pictures online. No woodwork, just a plain, although good sized room. Our room was right on the street and the noise from the nearby bar kept us awake all night long. I had asked for a double or queen size bed but was given two singles. Our mini-refrigerator did not work and the front desk clerk promised to get someone to come and look at it or replace it, but he never did, nor did the front desk clerk who was on duty the next day do anything about it. So, I asked for some ice and this was delivered but the same front desk clerk who had promised to get our fridge fixed but didn't just stood there expecting a tip. Hey, fix the fridge and I would have been happy to tip you.
There were a few positives. Breakfast was good and the personnel running the breakfast were nice and pleasant. And the location which is just steps away from the Riga Cathedral is unbeatable. Still, when you pay nearly $140 USD for a night, I expect way better than this.More
