“Great Hotel.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2010

The hotel was in a great location in the old town. The Hotel is perfectly located for all attractions, the train station and bus station. The area is perfectly safe to walk in.

Check in was quick and the rooms were ready on time and are of a large size with a good bathroom. All rooms have a mini bar but it is cheaper to find an off licence but the drinks in the mini bar are not to badly priced.

If you want a kettle in your room you need to ask but it is rapidly delivered.

Given the fact the hotel is in the old town it is surrounded by bars and the street can be a bit noisy in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday Night, but it didn't really bother us.

All in all a good hotel for the price. I would return on a future trip.

Central location, funky decor, helpful staff, gorgeous huge rooms - all different. A lovely place to stay - with one exception - the breakfast which had very little variety and was generally boring. You would do much better to go out and get breakfast in one of the many cafes around.

This is a lovely hotel with stylish, comfortable rooms, great breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. The location is good, right in the old town. The only caveat I have is that since Riga is a party town, it's best to stay on an upper floor of this hotel. We originally were on the second floor, but the noise from the street below--all night long--was a problem. We moved to an upper floor and did not have a problem. The hotel staff were very accommodating.

The beds were extremely comfortable. Water in the shower was good and hot--good pressure, too.

It's not the fanciest you can think of, but it's clean, rooms are large and comfortable, staff is friendly and breakfast is not bad. And all this for some 35 euros per person... great value for money indeed.

Since we travelled in early October, the city was quite quiet (no stag or hen parties) so no street noise regarding sleeping,re other reviews. The hotel was first class for price, large and comfortable rooms, and breakfast was excellent. The hotel is ideally located for the Old town and is only a 5-10 min walk from the bus stop (Stockmann centre) if your travelling by bus from the airport. We used the bus, (No.22) both from the airport and to the airport and it is only a 25 mins journey and costs 0.70 Lats.with buses every 12 mins. The Old town is quite small but with some lovely restaraunts and cafe bars but will only hold you for a couple of days, but super short term destination

The hotel is located in the center of the old city. It's a lovely hotel with large rooms and very helpful and friendly staff. However, don't expect to get any sleep as the Steak Haos located across the road blasts out loud music until late in the evening and this was on a Monday night. I imagine the weekend would be worse! I didn't get any sleep at all and had to get a 7:00am flight. It's a pity this establishment across the road ruined what would have been a lovely place to stay.

A very cosy hotel. The few number of rooms ensured that there wasn't any crowd: in the lobby or in the breakfast room. The reception staff was very friendly and offered us information on the town. The breakfast was quite wholesome. Where else would you get champagne with your breakfast buffet!!

The hotel is well located and all the major sites including the National Opera are within walking distance. The central market and the station are on the other side of the busy Jan 13 Street but there is a conveniently located underpass just behind the hotel.

The hotel room could do with a full length mirror. There is so much of wall space and it is difficult to dress up with just the bathroom mirror especially since the bathroom door does not open fully.

Overall a great hotel which we found through Trip Advisor quite by chance. Recommended to all.
