“Nice hotel, good location”
Reviewed 26 February 2014

Nice hotel, clean rooms but they are a bit small (kept bumping into the wheels of the bed).
Breakfast is ok, nothing special. Minus point: no chocolate paste (nutella or similar) :(
Friendly staff, great location.

I really couldn't fault this place. You can still smell the new carpets, lobby and restaurant areas very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was great and had an awesome selection of things to choose from, including sparkling wine! The hotel location is dead central of explore, Riga isn't a huge city compared to what I'm used to so everything is within walking distance but you can make use of the decent tram system if walking's not your thing. Rooms are not huge but you can't fault them, awesome bathroom as well. Staff were all very polite and likeable. Would definitely use this hotel again should I return to Riga as it offers excellent value for money.

Nice hotel within 15 minutes stroll of most of the attractions in the Old Town. Bedroom was spacious enough and clean. Bathroom was adequate, space-wise, although the shower was a little cramped for me. Excellent breakfast choices, salad bar, full cooked choices, bacon, eggs, sausages etc, chicken wings and rice, porridge, good cereal choices and good selection of breads. All this topped off by 'sparkling wine' to refresh the morning mouth. A good choice.

Had a great time at the hotel. Excellent location, in walking distance to everything, right next to the galrerija shopping centre. The room (surperior) was of good size, clean and modern. Satisfying minibar. Big breakfast, the staff were very helpfull with glutenfree alternatives due to my allergies. Profesional spa-department with lots of treatments at reasonable pricess. The spa was fully-booked for the weekend, so treatments should be booked some days earlier.

From the moment we arrived in riga the people were lovely. The shuttle transfer (5€ each) asked us where we were staying and dropped us right outside the door of the hotel.

We checked in at 2300 tired and a bit peckish. Unfortunately room service stopped at 2300 so the receptionist offered to call us a pizza which was greatly appreciated.

Our superior room was 227. It was at the front of the hotel and had a huge double bed, mini bar, extra large bath (big enough for 2) as well as a hairdryer, iron and tea making facilities (coffee and milk isn't provided, bit odd but we survived!). Overall a very luxurious room for the price (£63 per night).

The facilities in the hotel are fantastic. The spa and pool, though small, is peaceful and very relaxing. Access was included in the price of the room and we could use the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room as often as we liked. For a very reasonable price my girlfriend booked an anti-stress full body massage which she thoroughly enjoyed. I opted for a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage which i wouldn't recommend (brutal at times!)

The food In the restauraunt is not too expensive, €17 for a fillet steak and is some of the best tasting and well presented food I have had.

The centre of old town is less than 3 min walk. The hotel is also opposite the Gallaria Centre which is a large, modern multi story, glass fronted shopping centre complete with shops such as Oasis and H&M along with a supermarket. We stocked up on water, beer and snacks here as, understandably, it was much cheaper than the mini bar.

This is a modern, smart and central hotel in the Old Town. All of Riga's attractions are close by There are plenty of bars and restaurants near by and there is a Rimi supermarket in the Galeria shopping centre across the road.

My room was very nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. There is a TV with 2 English channels, German, French, Russian, and of course Latvian channels. There's a well-stocked minibar, powerful shower, iron and ironing board, near-blackout curtains, free Wifi and a telephone.

The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed daily.

The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of items to suit most tastes. Bacon, eggs, pancakes, fruit and yogurt, cereals, fish, cheese, salad, pastries and meats.

If you wish to book a taxi the hotel has its own cars. The charge to the airport was around 12€, the same as Red or Baltic taxis.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone as we were well looked-after and had no problems whatsoever.

Mostly negatives unfortunately -

We booked a superior room but it was very small and not at all how it appears on the photos on the website. Not worth the extra money.

We asked for a bath prior to arrival but did not receive one. Apparently only one of the superior rooms in the hotel has a bath.

We were on floor two where you can loudly hear the music in the bar until 1am starting again at 7am. There is also a lot of building/demolition work ongoing in the local area near to the hotel which kept us awake.

There are only tea bags in the room - no milk and no coffee. Also cups not cleaned/changed once during stay.

The restaurant is like a canteen at breakfast. Not enough tables so have to share with strangers.

Spa and pool small and overcrowded.

And on checking under the bed before leaving the hotel we found a used condom!

Positives - very nicely decorated and central location. Towels were changed daily.
