Old City Boutique Hotel
Ranked #25 of 110 Hotels in Riga
Reviewed 21 May 2013 via mobile

Situated just minutes walk from just about every main sight in Riga you could not ask for a better location in the Latvian capital.

The buffet breakfast provided the usual fare of fruit/pancakes/breads/cereal/hot food that caters for the international travel market and sets you up nicely for the day pounding the city streets.

The hotel rooms are spacious enough but not huge, clean and comfortable. On the second floor we could pick up the free wi-fi from the reception/bar area other wise you need a cable (hopefully the will expand the wi-fi wider).

The bar/lobby area was a nice place for a drink either before heading out in the evening or for that last night cap before bed.

If I am back in Riga I will stop here again if possible. Very pleased with the hotel.

From it's great location to the ease of the checking-in to check out- everything was wonderful!

The hotel is in old town and is very convenient to the bus station if you arrive by bus from Tallinn or St. Petersburg. It is a 10 minute walk from the bus station. The hotel is also convenient to all the sites of the old town, and across the street from a small small up scale mall- which is handy if you need groceries, wine, shirt, or a sun glasses, etc.

The greeting by the bellman and other employees was very nice, but the real pleasure was the outstanding service from Alina at the front desk. She in extremely efficient and enjoyable. Most of the paper work was filled out prior to my arrival and her humor and professional warmth was very nice.

The room was on the top floor, and although not much of a view, it was very pleasant extremely quiet, the bed was very comfortable and the lighting was very good. I was at the hotel the latter part of May, so it was light quite late, but the black out shades worked well.

The weather was very warm, and air conditioning kept up and the room was very comfortable the entire stay.

The breakfast was nice, noting special, but still well presented. It is ample and there is a good choice of breakfast cereals, eggs, and breakfast meats.

All the staff, from the front desk, to the lady severing at the bar, breakfast staff, and the bellman were very friendly and always ready to help.

I recommend this property for the location, comfort, and the outstanding service and attention to detail.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less street noise. It can be noisy on a Friday or Saturday night because of the...

Upon arriving at the hotel I was greeted at the door and and the concierge took my suitcase to the check in counter.

At the counter I was pleasently greeted my Ms Alina and promtly check in to my room.

Once I was in the room I realized that my bathroom was not equipped with a bathtub. Called the front desk and within minutes the concierge was up to my room with a new passkey.

So far Im impressed by the friendly service! Thank you Ms Alina!

My husband and I stayed at the Old City Boutique hotel for 2 nights. The building itself is very interesting with very old walls having been retained iand integrated into the new structures. The bedroom and bathroom were comfortable, well-equipped, clean and had attractive decor, We also had free wifi access in the room.
The breakfast was ample, with a good choice of hot and cold items which were replenished as necessary.
The location was perfect to explore old Riga and the huge market. Main sights were all reachable on foot. The hotel was close to many restaurants and right next to a huge shopping complex. My only complaint - There were no tea/coffeemaking facilities in the room. All in all, however, it was a very good choice for our weekend in Riga.

Cozy hotel in the absolute centre of Riga with friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and nice interior. Basically nothing to complain about, its perfect for a weekend trip. Maybe downside is that the room was on the small side. Everything in Riga can be reached within a short walk, there is nice restaurants and bars nearby, so location was very good. Price was very good in relation to what you get. When asking for directions the staff was very helpful. I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel.

The hotel is nicely located, in the city center. Very friendly staff, very pleasant design. We stayed in the luxury room, that was just splendid! Private terrace to enjoy Riga night smell. Very good quality of food in the restaurant. Well, the bill for the hotel is on the top of what you can find here.
Room service and restaurant stop at 11pm. So if you arrived late there is 24h open pizza-burger place in 20 meters from the hotel.

I stayed in hotel only one night.
First need to mention perfect location in old town: especially if you arrive by bus or train.
Staff is unbelievable friendly and helpful, room nice and clean, food in restaurant was amazing.
I was leaving hotel at 5 in the morning before breakfast service, but when I was checking out I was given a “breakfast box” with freshly toasted sandwich, yogurt and fruit, - so I could have a snack in taxi on the way to airport- newer had such personal approach in any hotel before, - this gesture just topped everything above, will be back without a doubt, and recommend to anyone.
