I am staying regularly at this place allready for 4 years due to business travel. They have changed their head chef I may guess, hotel restaurant quality is changed for good, but prices are very friendly. Breakfast is very rich, way over expectation, this was allready mention before. Hotel room prices are moderate, it's very clean and quiet, I would recomend to people who have anykind of corporate business to do in Riga.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a good view

We got a really good rate for this hotel so I was pleasantly surprised. My room was small but clean and very quiet. The location is a bit far from the old town and I didn't like the area too much. This is quite a big hotel and is advertised as a business hotel but does not offer any room service which I found very inconvenient. There are a few nice restaurants down the road though. Breakfast OK. I'd try to stay somewhere closer to the old town next time.

We were transferred to this hotel after our booked accomodation had double booked in error. We were absolutely delighted at the standard of our room and the hotel in general. The rooms are small, although modern and well equipped. The hotel is sited in the heart of the beautiful Art Nouveau district and the city centre is within reasonable walking distance. We enjoyed a pleasant and very reasonably priced lunch one day and the Star Lounge bar on the penthouse is absolutely fantastic, offering views of the city to rival the better known Skybar at Hotel Reval. One slight negative is that the dining area for breakfast is small considering the size of the hotel and the buffet is a bit of a zoo as a result.

The prices given on this portal are way too high. My partners booked the hotel and I payed € 60 a night (10/03/2011 - 10/07/2011).
International standard, 10 min walk to the old city (I have some problems walking, but hat a local guide), stayed on 7th floor -> very calm

4* hotel with 3* rooms in a nice neigbourhood outside the old village. Service from staff was excellent and the Star Lounge on 11. floor is a nice place to unwind with a drink. The standard rooms are quite small and basic. Free wifi though but no safe, you have to use a safe in the reception area.
Get a room on top floor to have a view and considering the low price for a room upgrade yourself to bigger room.
Several restaurants in the neighborhood and also a few convenient stores. Price level in Riga is very moderate and we paid 10 Lat for a taxi from airport.
Albert is a nice hotel, and see no problems in staying here again, but would book a bigger room than standard room.

Room Tip: Go for a bigger room on top floor

Hotel Albert is a short (and safe) walk away from the city centre sights. It has a very witty Albert Einstein theme with quotes from his writing and other references to his life and work dotted around the hotel. My room on the third floor was small but clean with a good bathroom which had a deep tub. The (two single) beds were typical northern European basic but comfortable enough for a two night stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful and those in reception have very good language skills. Other reviewers have mentioned the excellent breakfast. They are correct, there is not only the usual continental breakfast staples, but also a great range of smoked fish, which is a speciality in this part of the world. The only problem at breakfast is your table may be cleared if you go to get a second cup of coffee. Overall a great value, friendly, clean and safe hotel.

I stayed in Albert Hotel for 2 nights and was really happy with it. The hotel is located in the Art Nouveau area, about 10 minutes walk from the Old Town. It was a great base for exploring all the stunning Art Nouveau architecture, as well as lots of the old wooden buildings.

Rooms were clean and spacious enough, and the staff were friendly and spoke excellent english. There was also free wifi.

But I think the highlight of the hotel was actually the breakfast! The choice and quality was just amazing. There was a whole table of hot food, such as eggs, bacon, tomatoes and potatoes. A table with a range of fuits, fish, cold meats and cheese. And then a table of various breads, pastries, cereal and yogurt. And it was all included in the price of the room - fabulous!

When you head into the Old Town from the hotel I also strongly recommend stopping at the Orthodox church in the park on Brivibas iela. Is very close to the hotel and is absolutely incredible on both the outside and inside.
