Modern hotel in a great location being only an easy 15 minute walk to the charming old town.
Hotel may only be a 3 star but the service from the staff a quality of the food is much higher.
All the staff were very friendly and efficient.
The hotel is clean and has the quirky Einstein theme running throughout it. The bedrooms are are little on the smaller side but more than adequate for a short break and even the minibar prices in the room are not too excessive for a change.
The food was of a very high standard both breakfast and evening dinner. The star lounge bar on the 11th floor has some fantastic views over Riga and also does some great cocktails as well.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were friendly and efficient. It was easy to walk into the old town from the hotel, and it's a great location if you're interested in art nouveau architecture. The room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for us for a long weekend.

I stayed at Albert Hotel for 4 night during business trip. It is perfectly located, in very quiet and nice neighbourhood, just 15 min walk to the Old Town and the walk is through wide streets next to the Museum, churches etc. This area is very safe and you can walk around by yourself.

Hotel itself is very good; clean, quiet, interior is stylish, very modern. Hotel theme is Albert Einstein (of course, the name says itself) and you can see his quotes and mathematical signs everywhere. Instead a door tag "don't disturb", there is "I'm thinking" :-))) And in the bars and restaurant you can hear jazz music which really suits the atmosphere of the hotel.

The rooms are not huge, but are new, spotlessly clean, with minibar, tv, free wi-fi.

We were having breakfast and lunch in the hotel and it was great. Great selection of food for everyone. And interesting combinations for lunch (including salmon) and dessert were served every day.

Staff is very friendly and pleasant. Have in mind that allegedly tap water is not drinkable, so you have to buy it (there is a grocery shop across the hotel). And also, in Riga they don't accept Euros so you have to change to Lats (Latvia's currency), for a start there is a currency exchange office also just on the corner across the street.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not connected with other room through double doors. Not so quiet.

I was booked into The Albert hotel in Riga on business as part of a conference/seminar booking - it was a good result. The hotel is clean, smart and modern and the service is friendly and good. The overall look and feel of the public spaces is excellent - with Einstein quotes all over the place and a 'chalkboard' theme to the signing. Bright colours and stylish decor - all good. Similarly, the restaurant is nicely decorated and lit, as well as providing very good food, and the 11th floor Star Bar is great - good drinks, good prices and a nice view (although the SkyLine bar in the Radisson Blu does have the edge on view). The only slight disappointment was the room - it was clean and comfortable, but a bit basic compared to the rest of the hotel. The lobby, bar and restaurant would make you think it'd be really cool, but it was just 'normal' - not bad at all, just not as special as the rest of the place.
The bottom line is that this is a great hotel - good location (10 mins to old town), good service and pretty cool.
Oh, and it's a great seminar venue too - our room was on the top floor, with floor-ceiling windows and a view across Riga. A nice way to spend the day...

In my previous review a few years ago I mentioned that there are 2 "classes" of room on each floor of the Albert- those with service ducts outside taking up about 1m of the room size, and the larger rooms. It makes the difference between a New York sized hotel room and a room with a bit of space to open your luggage and spread out a bit.

I'm back at the Albert hotel, so of course as soon as I checked in and went up to the room I checked the fire floor plan on the back of the door, and OF COURSE I had been put in one of the smaller rooms. Luck of the draw.

The room numbers to AVOID on each floor are 05, 06, 13, 14, 20, 21, 28, 29. If your room number ends with these digits you have been put into a small room. So get changed to another room!

Don't believe the desk staff who insist that all the rooms are the same size. Experience and the floor plan say otherwise. The staff still changed my room cheerfully even though they didn't believe me (crazy foreigners, huh?).

The Albert is still great value in Riga, reasonably central location, good (included) breakfast, interesting decor, nice staff, clean.

Room Tip: The room numbers to AVOID on each floor are 05, 06, 13, 14, 20, 21, 28, 29. If your room number end...

I stayed in Hotel Albert while on a 3-day business trip to Riga. The room was clean enough, the breakfast good, and the location was perfect. The bathroom was a little too "used" for my taste, and the shower too small, however. It has been a nice experience, and I would probably stay here again for work, although for fun I would probably stay closer to "old Riga"

I am staying regularly at this place allready for 4 years due to business travel. They have changed their head chef I may guess, hotel restaurant quality is changed for good, but prices are very friendly. Breakfast is very rich, way over expectation, this was allready mention before. Hotel room prices are moderate, it's very clean and quiet, I would recomend to people who have anykind of corporate business to do in Riga.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a good view
