Kuk Buk is an amazing surprise in the Spice shopping mall. I know, mall food isn't supposed to be good, but for some reason one of the best restaurants in Riga is located in one. Bizarre.
I started with a duck soup which was surprisingly light, and flavourful. Barley was paired nicely with bok-choy and julienned snap peas. Lovely.
For a main I had leg of lamb, which by far was the best lamb I've had in Riga. Tender, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. It was served with a coffee mousse and horseradish cream. It all went together surprisingly well.
My companion had the salmon which was cooked to perfection with a delicious crisp skin, served with a green salad.
As a desert we shared a Crème brûlée and she had a coffee. This together with two waters was slightly under 35 euro, making it one of the best values in Riga.
Service was polite and professional.
Don't let the location keep you away - Kuk Buk is a winner on all counts.
