De Gusto serves the best coffee and cookies in Jurmala, there are also seats outside to enjoy good weather, fresh air and watch the main promenade in the pedestrian street Jomas

“Old style Cafe, with pizza oven and funky music”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2014

The Cafe is located behind the shopping center. We entered to have there afternoon tea and some sweet bakery. Cafe had also wood heated pizza oven, so we decided to take first some salty. Options were small pies, so we decided for shared pizza. It was perfectly baked, dough was bit missing salt, but it was firm, reminded excellent ones that I had in Naples, Italy. Here pizza was slightly thicker. Toppings were plenty.
As a dessert we had different pastries, which were very good. Fruity one with nice freshness.
Cafe interior is interesting, reminds old cafes, maybe a century ago. Different tables were decorated with different styles. Back ground music modern funky, based decoration, I would have expected more like Mozart, or street name sake Richard Wagner.
Staff was very nice, helping and explaining what each pastry was.
Place is not very big, maybe max 20 seats.
