“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2014

I have recently had the chance to spend 3 days in "U Leva" hotel in Levoca, Slovakia. This a wonderful hotel with large, warm and very clean rooms and an extremely nice young personnel who makes you feel so comfortable and special at the same time. The hotel has also an excellent chef. I enjoyed a lot every single meal I had there. The breakfast was very good and giving me energy for hours ahead. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and business partners for their travels. There are many interesting places for visit in the region and that hotel could be an excellent base.

Room Tip: Room 103 was excellent - large, quiet and with a view to the cathedral :)

Great Downtown Hotel - well maintained. Elevator. Large room & Large Bathroom. Kitchen was neat. Staff was very helpful. Restaurant at the hotel next door was great. There was some parking behind the hotel. We didn't try the breakfast.

A very nice, clean and quiet hotel with very friendly staff and warmly pleasant rooms.
The meals in the restaurant are delicious and you can also choose betwenn many local specialities.
The neighbouring country offers many very nice trips and the nature there is wonderful and without mass tourism.

We were in a standard room, which was perfectly comfortable for the price. Empty fridge was available for us to use, plus electric fan in room. Bathroom was ok, but shower arrangement was a bit odd (No shower curtain and shower head attached to lower part of wall - made showering a bit more exercise than I am used to). The room could have been improved by having a better curtain arrangement - the window was recessed into the sloping ceiling but the curtain was attached to the flat bit of the roof - not exactly keeping the room dark!. There was a lift and breakfast was OK (the usual meat, cheese, juice, cereals). Parking was in a yard at the back of the hotel, but we chose to park on the street running parallel to the hotel at the back. The town square is very nice, but dead as a dodo when we visited. There are several restaurants around it, very cheap and reasonable food (but not high cuisine).
Overall - a good 3* hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the main square

We spent one night in Levoca at that hotel. It was priced right for the room, fairly large but noisy, no a/c. However we could not eat dinner at the hotel as an Italian group was also staying at the hotel and using the entire dining room. The hotel staff obviously would rather cater to groups than to individuals paying the full rate...and willing to pay full price for dinner. The next morning, we found the breakfast buffet at 6 euros, not included with the room (as opposed to most other smaller hotels in that part of Europe). We only wanted coffee and a breadroll but it was not an option and we were told by the staff to eat more for breakfast to justify the price!

Room Tip: Try to stay there when there in no group as the hotel will only cater to the group, rooms on the fro...

Located inside the walled city, it looks directly onto the main square. We were the only people in town so I’m sure we received upgrades across the board. Big room with kitchen&dining area, very comfortable. High speed internet and free parking. Good breakfast – great price

Room Tip: Any rooms overlooking the square are the best, but can be loud during peak travel times.
