An amazing place underground with carvings, statues, church etc. all made from salt. The galleries and levels were extensive, the caverns were enormous and the sheer detail in some chambers was beautiful. The amount of wood used to shore up or line the levels is huge. The place was well kept, orderly and felt safe. The only unpleasant moments were when we ascended to ground level at the end in a miner's cage and were squeezed in up against others. The guide was excellent and a good English speaker from City Guides.

“Beautiful and awe-inspiring”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Visited the salt museum in Feb 2013. My artist friend who suffers from claustrophobia was so impressed by the magic of the mines, that she overcame her terror and revelled in the wonderful carvings and the vast size of the caverns. Well worth the money. I ordered our tickets directly from Cracow tourist office rather than any other source; they were considerably cheaper than through an agency.

“Amazing attraction”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

This place was unbelievable. The work that has gone into all the carvings, the intricacy of the design, the attention to detail to have it open to the public. Going down in the miners cages was a bit scary, but didn't take more than a few seconds. We did an awful lot of walking and going down stairs, but the sights we saw were breathtaking. The chapel was totally amazing. Our guide Isabella was fantastic and very knowledgeable. There are cafes, toilets and shops underground and it is all well lit. All in all, an amazing experience.

“Salt Everywhere!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

The scale of this place is amazing. In the 2 hour guided up, you will see less than 1% of the mine. Some of the mans made chambers (everything is man made) carved out of salt are awesome. Even the floor is salt! The guide wa stood, but not exceptional, sometimes a little riches but it wa every busy.

We had to queue for around an hour to get tickets on a busy day in August , but there are great Ice creams in hand to make the time pass. Well worth a visit.

Do venture it the town afterwards, there are a couple of great restaurants a little off the tourist trail.

“3 hours of walking...”
Reviewed 20 August 2013

It's a salt! My friend and I just check out the place based on the reviews on trip advisor...uhmm what are the fuss about this place for it being top 2 must see places in Krakow. Well NOTHING! really. I mean it's something different but then it's all salt. Yes the statues are okay.. they can do better for the amount of people and money that they get from the tourist. Seriously I would not recommend it to those who have kids --- foreal! I'm an adult and I was so bored!!!
