this had to be the absolute worst hotel we've ever stayed in. The room was tiny with absolutely no amenities. The hair blower had to be attached to two extension cords so I could use it while looking into the bathroom mirror. The TV had two channels, one totally in Danish and the othe had a program about sheep shearing. The shower was weak and even so, the bathroom floor was totally soaked after we used it.

We stayed here with friends who booked the hotel for a couple of days to get away from it all. The hotel is small and minimalist and the decor is pure scandinavian, clean and fresh looking.
There were paintings all over the walls (maybe one or two too many) for sale and yes the rooms are very basic. We were in room 1 which compared to our friends was huge. It had a balcony but the view was not good. The rooms were clean but little or no furniture that was of any use.
The bathroom was very small and the towels were pretty poor.
On a very positive note, the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was a basic buffet and we had dinner on one night that was exceptional, truly one of the best meals I have had anywhere.

We had a room in a side building which had been rebuilt from a a workshop or a garage. Tried to change rooms but were told that they were fully booked. Very, very basic room, small with a good bed but no other furniture except 2 tiny wooden chairs. Midget TV was hung 2 meters up and had 2 channels. Nowhere to put clothes and hardly room for suitcases on the floor. Bathroom was more like a scullery. Breakfast was inferior to regular Danish standards. Main building had no lobby or other areas where you could sit down. Opening hours unpredictable and when we turned up for coffee at 4.45 PM we were told that they were closing in 20 minutes and could not come in. Guestts in this building were told to use the fire escape outside opening hours. For this we paid the equivalent of US$ 200 which is a rip-off. They call themselves a hotel but it is nothing more than a badly run B&B.

The hotel was recently renovated giving it a clean old-style, minimalist look with designer furniture and accessories. We had Room #1 with a fantastic views of the town and sunsets. Breakfast (which is included) was a good but typical Scandinavian smorgorsbord. The hotel is centrally located to virtually everything. Just a note: If you are unable or unwilling to climb a lot of stairs you won't like this hotel also the staff at the time did not speak much English. All things considered a very beautiful little hotel.

I was here at the end of high season, so it may be different when the town and hotel are really crowded, but it was delightful when I was there in late August. The town is beautiful and worth seeing, but it is also well known by tourists.

The recent renovation makes the hotel look like an alluring ad for House & Garden for the quintessential clean Danish style. It is very attractive. The dining room is gorgeous, and the food was excellent. It was very easy to linger there in the late afternoon sun.

My room was spartan but lots of fresh sea air and lovely views over town. The location is very nice as you are on the edge of town right next to the harbor, so it is quiet but very convenient. I walked everywhere. There is parking for a few cars.

The manager recommended some nice side trips.

We have stayed in this hotel for our wedding anniversary. Skagen is in the most northern part of Denmark where the Northern and the Baltic seas meet, famous for its unique light painted by the famous Skagen artists (whose works can be seen in the Skagen Museum). It is lovely yellow ochre covered harbour town and Hotel Plesner adds to its charm.

The hotel is not big, I think it only has 14 rooms, but it is example of Scandinavian simplicity and hyggelight atmosphere. Breakfast is just awesome and the rate we booked was inclusive of it. We also had its restaurant recommended which is famous, but it is closed during winter months of Jan/Feb, so we missed out, but there will be next time. We had Room #1 which has splendid panoramic view of Skagen, but it is not big, and has no cupboard to speak off just some space for hangers. Bathroom is compact, and no goodies, so bring your own. It is cosy nevertheless. No room service, but not sure if that is because it is winter and restaurant is closed. This place & Skagen would be fantastic in early summer, so we will be back.

It is perfectly located right on the doorstep of all the attractions, 2min walk to the long Skagen shopping stretch and the harbour. Hotel made recommendations for restaurants, we opted for Pakhuset, fresh fish restaurant that is not limited to fish right overlooking the harbour. Lovely food and service, check it out.
