“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

If you like bleak then this is the place for you to visit. We were there far too early for any of the museums to be open but there appeared to be two. This area would be perfect for walking around probably best in summer when warmer.

“Great sailing stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

Came with sailboat to the nice harbour and stayed 2 nights. The whole family (wife and 3 daughters) rented bikes and took the beautiful beach road to Grenen. The liked the candy factory/shop in the center of Skagen.

“Bad timing?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2013 via mobile

We drove here in our motorhome in late September and returned in early October.
Despite researching this fairly extensively before departing, when we arrived all the campsites were closed for the winter.
This wasn't so much a problem as an inconvenience as we were in our motorhome and fairly self sufficient but after half of a 1300 mile round trip in four days, a proper hot shower would have been nice as would have mains electricity and a chance to empty the chemical loo and grey water and top up the fresh water tank.
Several of the campsites were stating that they were open April to October but I think that this was either optimistic on the part of the sure operators or may have been lost in translation, in a similar way to the American date system.
A long, hard drive with expensive fuel, food and drink but a worthwhile trip nonetheless.
Probably won't be going back though but if I do, it won't be in the autumn!

“Fantastic seascape”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

This really is a great experience. If you have time on your hands, you should walk up to the tip either on the Kattegat or the Skagerrak side, both are fantastic. Preferably in the early morning or late afternoon, when the place is less busy (or even solitary, at least in September). I was there twice, the second time there was more wind, the seas were a bit rougher - and the sight was quite different, so you could really see how the landscape is constantly changing up here. Again, a great experience!

“One of the highlights in Skagen”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2013

One must go Grenen if they are to Skagen. Top of the Denmark with two seawaves bump into each other. A good place to spend the evening walks.

Population in Skagen is 8000 people only , so the town is pretty quite in the afternoon and totally quite in the evening.
