I really liked our stay in Monte Álamo. You will probabily need a car to get there but it pays off: very peaceful and quiet, and near Tavira at the same time. The view is great. Everything was great: the room, the staff, the breakfast. It was a good surprise. I would come back anytime.

My husband and I spent a week here in February. The bed and breakfast is only a 15 minute walk from town, but in a quiet rural area. This was our headquarters for exploring the Algarve, and it was very convenient. Rosario and her family provided us with friendly, helpful advice and literature for the whole area. We started each day with a good, hearty breakfast, and we had a lovely dinner there one night as well. If you prefer a quiet area, away from the crowds - but not far from the beach - this will be a very good bet. If you want to get around, though, you will want a car (although we did see buses and bus stops everywhere). Of all the areas we saw near the sea in the Algarve, this was the least crowded and commercial - and most desireable. It is a lovely building, lovely setting, and lovely people!
