Highly recommended! A peaceful place in the countryside, close to Tavira, where just the birds singing could be heard... Really nice for a holiday! Nice pool and gorgeous breakfast! WE really enjoyed our stay there

Breakfast on the shaded veranda with freshly squeezed orange juice while watching birds feed on loquat tree below was my favourite part of day. Lovely valley views and walks on tracks, pretty well everything as good as other reviews suggested. Nice pool.

Some tips, stay in main house if poss. there is a fridge in lobby area of rooms but no staff are resident so nothing available before breakfast is served at 9.00. If you want early cup of tea must bring a travel kettle etc. Need a car to get to restaurants as no lunch and not always option of evening meal. Lovely local place to eat in Prego 10 mins by car, Tavira and coast 25min drive. Get satnav lat. long. coordinates for satnav as ours did not recognise their postcodes. This is a laid back place with charming laid back service, you will need to anticipate your own needs so might not suit the impatient or those expecting a full range of hotel services 24/7.

Great for bird watching in May inc. hoopoes, golden orioles, Port. magpies, plus storks, bee eaters and waders at coast. Lovely natural and largely unspoilt part of Algarve in contrast to other side of Faro.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Herdade da Corte for 1 night - 24 hours that we wished would have lasted much much longer. This hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere but is a short drive from the eastern part of the Algarvian coast. The rooms are clean and tidy and full of atmosphere, as is the main house which serves as reception and restaurant. They have a relaxing pool which made it the perfect last night of our roadtrip through Portugal.
But the best thing about Herdade da Corte might be the people working there, who are so kind and welcoming. They made us an amazing dinner in the evening and made us feel very at home from the moment we got there, without being 'too present', if you know what I mean.

We spent 4 nights here at the end of April, the weather, hotel and surrounding area was great. The hosts João and Francisco were brilliant nothing was to much trouble. Lovely cool rooms and we did not need the air conditioning even though it was close to 30C. We ate in the restaurant one night and that was a lovely experience. 10 -15 minute drive from Tavira and the lovely beach at Barrill with kms of beach, a nice time of year to visit with no crowds. We will be back.

Francisco was easy to work with leading up to and during our visit, showing great hospitality throughout the process. We stayed in the main house, which was directly adjacent to the restaurant and the pool. The room and bathroom were compact, but didn't feel small. The architecture was very authentic to the agriturismo feel of the property. It was a bit too cold for us to swim (mid-April), but the salt-water pool looked great (other than a few bugs in the water) and I enjoyed dangling my legs in it while reading a book. The property is nestled in between rolling hills of farmland and unused, lush land filled with purple, white, and yellow flowers; we were told that on a clear day, you can hike to the top of a hill to see the coast. There are nearby farm houses with lemon and orange trees. The lobby/restaurant features a full bar with a nice selection of wines. Prior to our trip, on recommendation from a precious reviewer, we arranged for a 3-course dinner upon our arrival. Francisco was more than happy to arrange this and was very accommodating to dietary restrictions as well. We enjoyed our best meal of our 8-night trip through Spain and Portugal eating roast fish, vegetables, and potatoes on an outdoor balcony as Francisco lit candles, poured wine, and intermittently stopped by to chat. We only had 2 nights here, but would very gladly go back for this property.

Room Tip: Pick a room in the main house near the pool to be close to the restaurant. They are smaller than the other house, but more central.
