The Guest House is absolutely beautiful and extremely comfortable, so much so that the only time we ventured into town was for lunch & dinner. We spent most of our time lounging by the pool. Breakfast was very healthy and set us up for the day, the room was beautiful with the patio doors looking out over the fields. The bathroom in the room we had is quite small but ok if you’re not on the plus side. The pool was great, a mixture of sun & shade depending on what you prefer. The track up to the Guest House was a bit off putting (quite narrow at some points and we had a cheap hire car so was a bit weary of how it was going to be affected by the rocking & rolling) at the start but you get used to it & it isn't too bad. The plus side of this is the Guest House is peaceful. Would definitely go back & probably will at some time. The owners are lovely & Chelsea (their little dog) is a wee cracker.

Thanks for a great review!
The narrow track is actually an ancient road, so the width was meant for donkeys and carts,
so our modern cars seem a bit too big but as you say you get used to it.
Thanks again,
Jane & John.

The accomodation was lovely, very clear and well maintained but cosy at the same time.

The location was beautiful opening the curtains to see lemon trees, what more could you want.

Breakfast was a feast and I ate far more than I should have.

But the real icing on the cake was Jane and Johns hospitality, they were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We felt as though we were visiting friends.

I will definately be returning nd have been recommending this place to everyone I know

We spent a wonderful holyday at this place and fortunately it got extended for one more week because of the flycancellations due to the vulcano ashes from Iceland. This place is marvellous! We were met with warm friendlyness by Jane and John and got every help we needed. The rooms are perfectly equipped, the surroundings are very charming and even if Tarvira (lovely tovn) is close nearby, you feel like staying on the countryside.
We definitely come back!

Jane and John at Quinta Arruba truly exceeded all our expectations. Brilliant, kind, helpful and friendly, they provided an amazing base for our mini-escape to this, more peaceful bit of the Algarve. Every detail, from the delicious and impressive breakfast, to the lovely rooms (with great showers and towels!), to the sweet dog, Chelsea, to lifts to and from town, was just right (or better), and we can't wait to go back again soon.

Jane and John were lovely hosts. They have built a modern, convenient hideway among the carob and orange groves. Breakfast was very fresh - we have particularly fond memories of the homemade banana bread and strawberries. The room was comfortable with a lot of attention given to the extras - such as a safe, satellite tv and nice bedding.

Stayed our first two nights in the Algarve at Quinta Arruba. It was beautifully decorated and furnished and had great facilities for guests. We were the only guests but there was plenty space and the villa is situated in among carob trees. Jane and John were very welcoming and friendly. We walked into Tavira which was about 25 mins away or you could take a taxi for around 4 euros if you don't want to drive. The villa was a great base for exploring the eastern Algarve, we only wish we could have stayed longer.

My fiancee and I stayed at Quinta Arruba for two nights in mid May 2009. Jane and her friends were the perfect hosts. The accommodation was lovely - purpose built last year and very comfortable, plus we loved lounging around the pool. Great location for exploring the Algarve as it is a two minute drive to the great little village of Tavira (great seafood). Excellent value for money too - we'll definitely be back!
