“No-show!”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

I booked the one-hour trip via the company website and received a reply from "Henrique" to say that all was in place and confirmed. We arrived at the set-off point next morning at 9:20, as Henrique instructed us - only to find ... no boat, no Henrique, nada. 25 minutes later two guys turned up and when we asked them about our booking they just shrugged their shoulders, said the next trip was going out at 10:40 (nothing about that time on their website), and that "it was nothing to do with them." Pity - I was looking forward to seeing the Ria Formosa up close. Obviously would NOT recommend this company.

“Nice boat ride but terrible organisation”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

The ride consists in 4 differents places to see (which are very nice) and lasts approximately one hour. The boat captain was very nice to us but did not speak a very good english.
Unfortunately the organisation almost spoiled the ride for us : we reserved through our hotel with a portuguese speaker (to make sure the reservation was understood) and when we arrived we were told after 15 mn of waiting (with no staff member to talk with) that no boat was going to come as the reservation was not communicated to them.
They finally found a boat (after we asked for reimbursement) with a driver which allowed us to leave 30 mn after our initial reservation time.

“Wonderful host”
Reviewed 13 May 2013

While not great bird watchers we really enjoyed our hour and a half around the lagoon. Henrique couldn't have been more helpful. Pointing out and naming the birds and slowing everytime there was an opportunity to see something a little special. I won't forget the sight on hundreds of crabs waving from the mudflats! We contacted via the website link on trip advisor as it wasn't obvious that the trips were running this early in the season. We had prompt and friendly replies to our e mail enquiries.

“A thoroughly enjoyable, informative and entertaining trip.”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

There are a number of tours to choose from and we opted for the one and a half hour ornithological/historical one. Unfortunately July is probably not the best time from a bird watching point of view however this couldn't be helped and although Spring and Autumn may have been more fruitful in this respect we still saw more than enough to keep us interested. The boat we went on probably only held a maximum of eight passengers and on our particular trip there were only six of us together with our very knowledgable, articulate and considerate guide. The small number of people involved made the whole trip a very easy occasion with plenty of opportunity for asking questions. The guide, who originated in the west of Portugal, spoke perfect English and was a mine of information about the natural and economic history of the region as well - thankfully - as the geography of the lagoon. An excellent experience and one in which the complimentary beer - or water - delivered from another boat was very welcome.
