“Great Restaurant”
Reviewed 4 July 2013

This restaurant (which opened about 1 year ago) was recommended to myself and my husband by some friends and it was really very good. It decor is simple and they have a few tables outside but the setting is just lovely sitting outside looking at all the old buildings. It is near the post offfice and old town.

Junior they owner and chef was very helpful regarding the menu and he cooked a special veggie dish for my husband, I had a steak dish which was very tasty. Prices are very very reasonable. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

“lovely food, lovely place, lovely people”
Reviewed 5 June 2013

We went there with two friends who live in Tavira and had a lovely time. We all had steak - apart from my husband who had mixed grilled meat and it was all fantastic. The olives to begin with were lovely and garlicky and the wines were inexpensive and delicious. The owner and his wife are Brazillian and it would be nice to see more Brazillian recipes on the menu, but there was a fish Mucaca (sp?) which sounded lovely but was for two people and everyone else wanted meat. Its a little bit up the main street by the Post Office and has outside tables as well. We can recommend Castelo for a really lovely evening out. All in it was 15 euros a head which included coffees and liquors along with the wine. Booking may be necessary as it is small and exclusive. We will definitely be going again.

“Delicious food from a little start up restaurant”
Reviewed 1 May 2013

We only found this little gem on our last night in Tavira unfortunately which has only been open since September last year. Will definitely be popular in the future. We ordered the seafood rice which was heaven in the mouth. Just a short 50 metre walk from the main square of Tavira, the prices were much cheaper than the meals we ate anywhere else in town. We met the owners (Junior & Georgia) who were absolutely divine. They were so friendly and welcoming and we had a nice long chat. Can say with confidence that you should definitely eat here! Thanks, Rob and Anna from Australia!

“Little Start-Up Restaurant Serving Great Portuguese Dishes”
Reviewed 2 April 2013

We went twice in a few days on a recent visit; gene first time we had Arroz do Polvo, delicately flavourerd and balanced. We went back for their signature dish, Moqueca, which needs to be pre-ordered, but worth it. Great service from a team who care about what they serve. If you're in Tasvira, go here
