“Nice atmosphere and good natural juices”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Both juices were very tasty. It was quite busy that day, with a singer performing, and we had to wait a bit for a table but it was acceptable. The food was very good, sort of summer tapas. We didn't try proper main courses, but what we had was very good indeed.
I would recomend it if you like to sit outside and if you enjoy healthy but tasty food.

“Great for a snack & for hearing Fado”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Alvaro de Campos is in Rua de Liberdade in the centre of Tavira. It is NOT in Cabanas.

Seating choices are between the outdoor pavement cafe, the stylish interior or a small sunlit courtyard at the rear.

We have enjoyed several types of tapas. The flambéed sausage, sautéed mushrooms and goats cheese with honey are especially good. The lemon meringue pie can be recommended.

The staff are young, friendly & keen to please.

Friday night is Fado night at Alvaro de Campos. If you want to enjoy Fado in central Tavira, this is a good place to be.

“Alvaro de Campos for snacks or dinner”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

On one of the busy streets in Tavira, we initially stopped by for coffee and to use their free WiFi, we ended up with Tapas 'snacks'. In all honesty the tomato & rocket salad was rather a poor portion, good job we ordered chips and cheese too! It was very tasty though and we sat on the street enjoying the sunshine and watching the day to day goings on of the locals and tourists. We went back in the evening as they had a Fado trio playing who were excellent, the atmosphere was buzzing and the food looked very good. We had a decent glass of wine each which certainly did not break the bank. We will try it again when next in Tavira, staff very friendly though they seemed short staffed.

“Light, airy, great food & lovely staff”
Reviewed 21 May 2014 via mobile

Just stopped for a quick snack lunch & enjoyed tuna & chicken wraps, fries, beers & coffee. We didn't risk the little garden at the back as it was showery so chose a table by the door to watch the world go by. They have a menu in English & the food was very tasty & good value for money. Staff are super friendly & we will definitely come back another time. You'll find it about half way up the hill from the main square.

“You must try”
Reviewed 8 May 2014 via mobile

This restaurant is op. post office and Milennium bank in Tavira. Extremely varied and appetising menu for both lunch and dinner . Previously had a tasty snack and tonight had evening meal . An unusual tapas with smoked salmon and cheese came before pork ribs and a pork and clam casserole. All very good . Then the best lemon meringue pie I have had . Lovely people own and work here making a really pleasant atmosphere with attentive but not overbearing service . Will certainly be back again .
